## Newest reviews (12 of 32)

### 2/5 — Worked when it was free

*2026-08-17, version 1.5.1.6*

I’m not paying for this. A subscription is unnecessary. It was good while it was free.

### 2/5 — Used to be great

*2026-07-20, version 1.5.1.5*

Was great until the free app was no longer free to use.

### 3/5 — Subscription needed

*2026-07-03, version 1.5.1.5*

Really enjoyed this app when it was free. Moving to another one now that there’s a monthly charge to continue using.

### 3/5 — Sad that free tier is gone

*2026-06-15, version 1.5.1.4*

Very little warning that free option is gone. Cannot even look at the app unless you start a trial or pay up. Is one of the few places you can get wet bulb temp notifications.

### 1/5 — 15 degrees low on wet globe

*2025-08-15, version 1.5.0.7*

Not accurate

### 1/5 — Football

*2025-07-22, version 1.5.0.4*

This app made me practice football when the temp was 107

### 1/5 — no way to find out what it costs before you sign up

*2025-06-10, version 1.5.0.3*

It's necessary to create an account before trying this even once. Nowhere in the App Store or at the Zelus website does it state how much it costs. Shame because it looks like it would be a really useful app. I don't know if it will cost a little or a lot -- not willing to create an account just to find out.

### 1/5 — Not as good as hand held

*2024-08-16, version 1.0.4.6*

It’s impossible for this to be as good as hand held. We use this to compare it to our hand held and our weather app and it is very inaccurate

### 1/5 — Add-Ons Do Not Work Well

*2024-08-13*

Disappointed to pay $20 and immediately
have the listed product enhancement be not even worth $1. Immediately asked for a refund and was denied.

### 1/5 — Inaccurate

*2023-12-24, version 1.0.3.8*

Our WBGT would wildly change 7-10 degrees in minutes. Not possible. I wouldn’t trust this app for life threatening decisions.

### 2/5 — App is okay, but there’s something wrong.

*2023-08-23, version 1.0.3.4*

The thought of the app was a good idea, but for some reason, when in reality it’s 100°F, IT SAYS ITS 90°F ON THE APP, MAKING IT OKAY TO PRACTICE???? That’s crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once. They locked me in a room. A rubber room. A rubber room filled with rats. The rats made me crazy.

ANYWAYS, something is wrong. Please fix it ASAP

### 1/5 — Unintuitive and wrong

*2023-08-15*

Very odd way of displaying what region you’re supposed to select. Also the WBGT readings are often much lower than truth, resulting in dangerous situations. Cannot be trusted to make life saving decisions. Probably more of a toy for weather enthusiasts

**Developer response:** There is an Evan Benet that works for Perry Weather. Perry Weather is a competitor of Zelus WBGT.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-08-21, version 1.5.1.6*

There’s not even an option for free but it states that. Not worth the fees delete!

### 1/5 — No free option anymore

*2026-08-11, version 1.5.1.6*

I’ve used this for years as required by my school for coaching. Now it requires payment. Finding a different option because coaches don’t get paid enough to add a subscription model for weather updates.

### 1/5 — Not sure it’s accurate

*2026-08-05, version 1.5.1.6*

Not sure I can trust this app and where it’s getting its info from - might as well use Apple Weather

### 1/5 — Constant Logouts

*2026-07-13, version 1.5.1.5*

The site will prompt you to purchase the monthly
or annual subscription and if you don’t, it forces you
to logout and doesn’t ever allow you to save your login information for some reason.

### 1/5 — No more free tier

*2026-07-08, version 1.5.1.5*

Almost all of these 5 star reviews are of the version of the app that was free. Now you have to pay for it.

### 1/5 — Not free

*2026-06-29, version 1.5.1.4*

This was great but now it is not free! It says that you can choose from free in the plans, but there is no free option! Anything to make a dollar I mean for that price I’ll just buy a wet bulb monitor!

### 1/5 — No Free Option

*2026-06-29, version 1.5.1.4*

It was good enough on the free option, but if I’m paying, there needs to be more offered.

### 1/5 — No free tier option

*2026-06-17, version 1.5.1.4*

Unfortunate that we have to pay to use the simple function for this app. This is an unnecessary money grab.

### 1/5 — No longer a free tier - previously a worthwhile app

*2026-06-02, version 1.5.1.3*

I only use this app periodically when I’m out in the heat. I don’t need the upsell features and don’t use it often enough to pay a subscription fee - please return a basic, free tier.

### 1/5 — Not accurate

*2025-08-19, version 1.5.0.7*

This app does not use accurate information for your specific location

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Easy and accurate

*2026-05-11, version 1.5.1.2*

Zelus is accurate, fast, and easy. Well worth it.

### 5/5 — Saving Lives

*2025-09-24, version 1.5.0.9*

We use this product both in our home life for our young athletes and our business. Great product!

### 5/5 — My GoTo WBGT app!

*2025-09-13, version 1.5.0.9*

Having this app at my fingertips helps me, as an AT, make informed reports to field officials and game directors. To know whether activities need to be modified or canceled is invaluable knowledge that can save lives and keep spectators, athletes, and officials safe.

### 5/5 — Excellent product

*2025-05-14, version 1.5.0.3*

This app is an integral part of our athletics program. It helps keep the entire campus informed about dangerous weather conditions.

### 5/5 — Excellent product

*2025-05-01*

This app is an integral part of our athletics program. It helps keep the entire campus informed about dangerous weather conditions.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2024-05-16, version 1.0.4.3*

This is a great app. It’s easy to use and gives me the information that I need.

### 5/5 — Want to know the WBGT? This is the app for you.

*2023-07-15, version 1.0.3.4*

This app is a great example of a tool that does exactly as advertised. Do you want to know the WBGT? This will give it to you. It will also allow you to see various scales for WGBT and their recommendations for outdoor activities.

As opposed to other apps, it’s clear you’re getting the WBGT here and not the Wet Bulb Temperature, which are (unfortunately) two different things.

And that’s enough. If you need the WBGT and know what that is, then this is the app for you. If you don’t, go google it and then come back and download this app. WBGT is quite useful, and this app usefully provides it.

### 5/5 — Quicker and more convenient than a handheld meter

*2022-08-05, version 1.0.2.4*

I started using the app recently and it is a lot more convenient than carrying around a handheld. I checked the readings against a handheld and they are either identical or very close. So far, so good.

### 4/5 — Question Accuracy

*2025-07-28, version 1.5.0.5*

This app helps support youth sports to provide a safe practice/playing environment. Don’t always agree with the overall rating for a particular time of the day. However, by following the guidelines provided student safety is highlighted.

### 4/5 — Decent app. Requires making free account

*2024-08-29, version 1.0.4.7*

Works just fine for me and shows the Wet Bulb Global Temperature where I live in Massachusetts. If you are unaware WBGT is not how we normally measure temperature. It will look completely different than your normal forecasts and is useful for knowing how safe it is to exercise outdoors in your area.

I really didn’t like how I had to make an account. The app already asks for your location so there is no need for it to save other data just to deliver local weather. The built in weather app doesn’t need an account, this one shouldn’t either
