## What is Zen Mode?

Zen Mode immerses you in living spatial audio environments that breathe with you.

Choose from 10 handcrafted soundscapes - ancient forests, moonlit gardens, ocean shorelines, crackling campfires, and more. Each environment is a multi-layered ecosystem of 3D sound, spatially positioned around you using Apple's PHASE audio engine.

SPATIAL AUDIO
Every sound exists in real space. Birds call from the canopy above, streams flow at your feet, and wind moves through the world around you. With AirPods Pro or AirPods Max, sounds stay fixed in space as you turn your head.

BREATH DETECTION
Place your device on your chest and Zen Mode detects your breathing rhythm using built-in motion sensors. The soundscape responds to your breath — no wearables or accessories needed.

Background Listening
Keep the soundscapes playing when you lock your phone or switch to another app. Your audio continues uninterrupted.
Lock Screen Controls
Control your soundscape from the Lock Screen and Control Center. See the current soundscape name and artwork, pause and resume playback, and skip to the next or previous soundscape — all without opening the app.
Improved Spatial Audio
Sound sources are now properly positioned in 3D space around you. With AirPods Pro, turn your head and hear the stream stay in place, birds call from the trees, and wind drift around you.
Richer Shoreline Soundscape
The ocean sounds on the Shoreline scene have been significantly enhanced — waves are fuller, closer, and more immersive, especially at higher intensity levels.
UI Improvements
- Customize overlay no longer shifts the soundscape title — smooth, seamless transitions
- Replaced "Tap here to close" with a clean close button
- Added AirPods Pro recommendation for new users
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the ocean category icon wasn't displaying correctly
- Fixed soundscape title not updating after switching scenes from the Lock Screen
