## What is Zen Passwords?

Zen Passwords is a private password manager for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Keep passwords, passkeys and verification codes in one vault, and use AutoFill to sign in.

SIGN IN WITH AUTOFILL
Fill passwords and one-time codes, create passkeys in Safari, and use them to sign in. After an update, open and unlock Zen Passwords once to finish AutoFill setup.

A VAULT FOR MORE THAN LOGINS
Store passwords, credit cards, bank details, secure notes, identities, Wi-Fi credentials and software licenses. Generate strong passwords and keep TOTP verification codes alongside your accounts.

LOCAL STORAGE, OPTIONAL ICLOUD
Your vault is stored on your device. If you choose to sync, it uses your personal iCloud account. We do not host your vault on our servers or use advertising or tracking.

PROTECTION AND CONTROL
Unlock with Face ID or Touch ID on supported devices. Auto-lock and clipboard protection help keep sensitive details private. Import from supported password managers instead of entering every login again.

START WITH FIVE ITEMS
The free plan stores up to five active items. Premium unlocks unlimited items and the full feature set. Review current plans and pricing in the app before purchasing.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.7.3 — 2026-09-20

Updated our App Store screenshots to show supported password-vault workflows more accurately. App features are unchanged.

### 1.7.2 — 2026-09-18

Keep track of expiring cards, identity documents and software licences. A new Expiring soon panel shows what needs your attention, with private reminders 30 days before, 7 days before and on the expiry date.

Dismiss a reminder until the next step, or clear it by updating the expiry date. Notifications never reveal the name of an item.

We have also refined toolbar icons and sidebar spacing on Mac.

### 1.7.1 — 2026-09-06

AutoFill now works even while Zen Passwords is locked. Passkeys, passwords and one-time codes come from a sealed copy of your vault that only opens with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode, and nothing is stored in the clear.

Create a passkey in Safari and sign in with it right away.

New: AutoFill PIN. Set a Zen PIN under Settings > AutoFill and AutoFill asks for Face ID or Touch ID first and your PIN second, instead of the device passcode.

Passkeys now sign in reliably from every device, including websites that check the passkey use counter.

Mac: the sidebar is wider so every label reads in full.

After updating, open and unlock Zen Passwords once so AutoFill can finish setting up.

### 1.6.2 — 2026-09-05

A new app icon, and the same mark on the lock screen, the welcome page and the splash.

Cleaner type. Inter is now set with its proper weights and spacing, and text is a softer slate rather than black. Toasts are lighter, frosted banners that follow your theme.

On a login, the authenticator is one row with the live code and a countdown ring. Folders are optional, so items no longer carry an "Unfiled" label.

Home: the tiles, cards and search field share one surface style, tags are smaller, and the dock is a capsule. Recovery and AutoFill have their own icons in Settings.

### 1.6.1 — 2026-08-27

Fixed an issue on Mac where opening one item straight after another could briefly show the previous item's details.

Behind the scenes, the encryption that protects your vault now lives in one shared component, which we have published as open source so anyone can inspect exactly how your passwords are secured. Nothing about how your data is stored or synced has changed.
