I genuinely think the app would improve significantly if the developers spent more time listening to feedback from the coaches, managers, and staff who use it in real-world environments. A quick example: If I navigate to a specific day on the calendar to review my schedule and then select Book Appointment, why does the app automatically take me back to the current date? If I’m already looking at a day one week in the future, there is a very high likelihood that this is the day I’m trying to book the appointment on. The booking screen should retain the date I was viewing rather than forcing me to navigate back to it again. There is another issue when changing appointment dates. The interface shows the numerical calendar date, but not the corresponding day of the week clearly alongside it. When you are working in a fast-paced coaching environment and booking or changing appointments between clients, you should be able to quickly move forward or backward and see something like: Tuesday, September 22 rather than simply seeing: September 22 I should not have to stop and mentally calculate which date corresponds to which day of the week. These may sound like small things, but they create unnecessary friction in something that should take seconds. When staff are making dozens of bookings, changes, and schedule adjustments, those extra steps add up very quickly. The interface is visually polished. What it needs now is more attention to workflow, speed, and how the app is actually being used by coaches and staff on a daily basis. **Developer response:** Hey there, thank you for your feedback. Thank you! ### 1/5 — Not optimized for iPad *2026-09-01* We’ve been using zenplanner since our martial arts school opened, the old app was simple and easy, and worked on our iPad. I was very disappointed when I realized that wasn’t the case for the new app. Now that the original staff app has been retired having students sign contracts is a hassle because it’s extremely small text on a phone, too small for some people to read. **Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your feedback. Even something as simple as scheduling an appointment is a tedious and time consuming endeavor. It changes the date and time of bookings and it changes the appointment type. Zenplanner is asking ME to completely change our programs, staff availability and so much more. This new app is scaled for a phone so if you’re using an iPad as a kiosk to check people in, check out retail items etc. it doesn’t look great and is hard to use. Functionality is the only thing that matters for a small Business owner using front facing management software and this new app misses the mark. You can keep all the new bells and whistles but keep some of the things from the old app that tangibly worked for us. IE the member check in experience, the retail check out, daily class schedule. Seems our time might come to an end if nothing changes soon. Every update makes things 5x more complex and 3 more clicks to reach the same Information. I understand growth and where you are headed but you took a functional app with an easy layout to now its a click through just to see the same info. Simplicity is key for small business owners who are busy. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2026-07-19* The new app and updates seem to be making the experience worse for gym owners. After the latest update coaches are getting error messages for members that are not accurate. Please fix the app asap. ### 1/5 — The old app was better *2026-07-14* This new app sucks. For each class you have to manually look up each person to check them in, there isn’t a roster that pops up where you can check them in. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback and we hear you. Update to version 1.0.11 to check it out! ### 3/5 — Please add “eligible” back *2026-07-11* We use the staff app at a martial arts school. The old app was great because you could see the list of students by face and add them to the class. This new version requires you to enter them by name if they haven’t checked in on their own, which isn’t always best when you have to stop the flow of class to ask for a new kid to remind you their name rather than just enter them by photo. It was also way more convenient to just scroll the list of monitors and tick them all off if they were present.
