## What is Zen?

A calmer way to focus.

Zen is a minimalist Pomodoro timer that helps you build better focus habits. Work in focused intervals, take short breaks, and repeat. It’s a simple way to bring a little more structure and calm to your day.

Watch time flow, not count down.

Instead of watching numbers tick away, watch a brushstroke slowly fill a beautiful Japanese-inspired scene. A gentle, visual way to see time passing without the pressure of a countdown.

Find your rhythm.

Choose your own focus and break durations, then let gentle sounds guide you through each session:

- Focus: Soft rain accompanies your work session.
- Break: A low, distant rumble signals it’s time to take a breather.
- Back to focus: Birds signal the end of your break and the start of your next session.

Less distraction, more focus.

Explore five calming scenes, enjoy thoughtfully designed ambient sounds, and keep your display awake so your artwork stays in view.

No dashboards, complicated statistics or unnecessary clutter. Just a beautiful timer to help you slow down, settle in and focus.

### 5/5 — Great concept and aesthetics

*2025-11-10*

Love the app. Would love the ability to mute the audio from this app so it doesn’t overlap with Spotify, etc.

### 3/5 — Beautiful, simple… no customization

*2024-10-21*

I love how beautiful and simple this app is - I just wish I could figure out how to turn the white noise feature off since I don’t want it playing over my music.

### 4/5 — Excellent ! mais…

*2024-05-06*

Respect de la vie privée = 👌
Mériterait de pouvoir fonctionner en arrière plein = sa serait utile lorsque l’on souhaite se concentrer pendant quelques minutes sur une autre app.

### 5/5 — Just perfect!

*2023-10-19, version 3*

It is just what I wanted. Simple, efficient and inobstructive. As a bonus it is aesthetically pleasing, which makes me want to use it even more 🫠

### 5/5 — Can i pay for it somehow?

*2023-09-04, version 3*

That’s so good

### 5/5 — Simplicity

*2023-06-28, version 3*

Zen is about being Simple and that’s it. This app is simple.

### 5/5 — Great app, needs more sounds

*2023-03-23, version 3*

Would be great to include things like white noise, pink noise and brown noise for focus

### 5/5 — Just Perfect!

*2023-02-14, version 3*

This app needs more downloads! It’s just what I was looking for. A perfect focus timer, clean, no distractions, no adverts or paywall and isn’t trying to be complicated. Great rainfall sounds to keep you zen and focussed. Can’t recommend enough!

### 3/5 — Work in the background

*2021-11-14, version 2*

Would like to see the app work in the background.
I can neither close the app nor lock the phone.

Other than that, it is awesome. Love the design and the functionalities.

### 4/5 — Love the concept but needs work

*2021-11-10*

Love the way the app looks and the concept behind it. I love that it uses an image instead of a clock to show how times passes. Having to see the a timer count down with numbers is distracting for me. I do have a few gripes that should honestly be some easy fixes. I primarily use this on my Ipad however I did notice that the time seems to stop if I switch to another app. Sometimes I have to use the iPad to read a text book while I’m studying. I would also think that a nice sound to tell me when each interval is over would be useful. I tend to do many intervals so if there was a way to track each interval it would be great. Overall great job!
