## What is ZenInk?

ZenInk turns your iPhone or iPad into a living Chinese ink-wash painting — a small window of calm to keep beside you while you work, rest, or breathe.

Three hand-painted scenes, each made entirely of ink and blank paper:

· Koi Pond — Ink koi drift among a few floating lotus pads, swimming in bursts, then pausing to hover. Touch the water and ripples spread; the fish startle and scatter, then slowly return.

· Lotus in the Rain — A fine rain dimples the pond; the frogs breathe and blink where they sit. Tap a lotus leaf and it trembles, shaking loose droplets — and the frog leaps to another pad.

· Afternoon Sun — A cat naps in a warm shaft of sunlight on the tatami. Wake it with a tap and watch it stir like a real cat, slow and drowsy; stroke it and it squints and purrs.

Everything is drawn by code — brushstrokes, ink bleed, rice-paper grain — so it stays crisp at any size and never repeats. Swipe like unrolling a handscroll to move between scenes. Swipe up on any scene (or tap the red seal in the corner) for a few gentle controls: rain, frogs, wind, fish speed, sway, sound.

No accounts. No ads. No network. No data collected. Just ink, water, and a little life.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.2.1 — 2026-09-14

· Fixed: each scene's sound dials are now true volumes — Rain, Water and Wind fall silent at their minimum, and the rain follows the Rain dial
· Fixed: the purr rumble now fades out within about 3 seconds after you lift your hand, and stops the moment you turn the page

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-10

· Fish move like real fish — the body ripples with a traveling wave, they swim in bursts then hover, and a startle gives a real flinch
· A few lotus pads and a small bloom now sway in the breeze; fish pass beneath them
· The frogs came alive — they breathe and blink while sitting, shift their weight, crouch before leaping, and the leaf dips when they land
· Rain no longer falls in neat rows; droplets gather and roll off the big lotus pads
· The cat wakes like a real cat — ears first, a slow blink, then its head lifts and it meows
· Its tail truly stills in sleep, with the odd tip-flick; it sighs deeply before settling back down
· Stroke it and it leans visibly into your hand

### 1.1.0 — 2026-07-28

· Fixed: no sound when the iPhone ring/silent switch was set to silent
· The screen no longer auto-locks while you watch
· Feel the cat purr under your finger; water and leaf touches tick softly (iPhone)
· Lotus pads gained a fuller ink hierarchy; the frogs a touch of mineral green
· A longer shaft of afternoon sun gives the room more depth
· New "Sway" control for how the water-weeds and lotus stir in the breeze
· On Chinese-language devices, controls are labeled with single ink characters
· On first launch, the pond stirs by itself — an invitation to touch
