## What is Zentime?

Zentime is the parental control app inspired by screen time research from Harvard Medical School, Stanford University, and Oxford University.

Requires a paid subscription to access all features. Includes a 7 day free trial with subscription.

Block apps, set screen time limits, and make devices less addictive for your child.

You get all the controls you expect: app blocking, daily time limits, launch limits, and scheduled access hours. But Zentime adds something competitors don't: an intentionality layer that breaks the compulsive pull of the screen.

How Zentime works

Set your restrictions and Zentime enforces them. When your child wants extra time on a blocked app, they complete a brief calming breathing exercise first. This small pause disrupts the automatic reach for the screen and makes app usage a conscious choice, not a compulsive habit.

Parental control features (available with subscription)

Block distracting apps: Choose exactly which apps to restrict on your child's device
Daily launch limits: Set how many times per day each app can be opened
Daily time limits: Cap total usage minutes for any app
Scheduled access hours: Allow apps only during specific windows (homework time, weekends, after dinner)
Timed breaks: Grant 1-10 minutes of temporary access after a breathing exercise
Auto-reblock: Apps lock automatically when break time expires
Passcode-protected settings: Only parents can modify restrictions
Family linking: Connect parent and child devices instantly with a family code

For parents who want more than surveillance
You're not just trying to reduce screen time. You're trying to make screens less addictive for your child. Zentime gives you the controls you need while adding the intentionality layer that breaks the compulsive loop.

### 5/5 — Finally something that works for my children

*2026-01-19*

I tried a number of parental control apps and this was the only one that actually solved my son’s moodiness when we hit screentime limits.

The breathing exercise he has to do when he opens an app he’s hit the limit for has actually calmed him down and he’s been sleeping earlier and spending more time with our family
