Unfortunately, the app has been crashing for a long time - hopefully zephyr can get its team to keep the app up to date. Not sure how they expect people to function their hoods otherwise. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2025-12-12, version 1.2.2* App no longer works and won’t open on the current version of IOS. Pro-Sumer good, with a sub-consumer app. Would give zero stars if posssible. ### 1/5 — App used to work *2025-11-17, version 1.2.0* With recent iOS updates, the app no longer opens so I cannot use the app to turn the fan off or set the 10-min timer to turn off. TheZephyr hood I purchased is an in ceiling unit and I cannot warn others enough about the shoddy tech and terrible product quality. The remote doesn’t work and now this app is non functioning. It was missing the board that required WiFi functionality. I reached out to customer service who sent it. After I installed the board, the WiFi features worked once or twice the stopped working afterward. Garbage app!!!!! Extremely disappointing for this expensive ceiling flushed installed fan. To add, they send another board for the unit but really doesn’t work still. Just like the other reviews. Zephyr needs to invest in a good hardware specialist and good software specialist for the WiFi-Bluetooth system of the Lux Connect!!!! ### 1/5 — Abysmal - wish I could return hood *2025-06-03, version 1.1.1* App has not been updated in over four years. Just installed hood and won’t connect to app, which they still tout in the manual and on the website. If the company is this terrible about that, I’m confident the hood I just installed is not going to work like it’s supposed to. Shameful corporate behavior. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t stay connected *2025-03-06, version 1.1.1* ZEPHYR PRODUCTS ARE BROKEN and they won’t fix them. They’ll send you a new board that also doesn’t work because the design is bad. These connected services were a waste of money for a Range Hood that can’t be replaced after installation. WiFi doesn’t stay connected on the device and even when the device is connected, services like Google Home will stop working with the app after two weeks which is a useless session time. ### 1/5 — Terrible App *2025-03-03, version 1.1.1* The worse home automation app ever. Full of bugs and functions that don't work as advertised. Zephyr doesn't care as witnessed by no app updates in the past 4 years. Don't bother calling their support. They make promises to help but in the end are useless. If you're buying a Zephyr hood with the notion that it's integrated with automation tools like Alexa and Google, don't bother. ### 1/5 — Won’t connect *2025-01-09, version 1.1.1* Bluetooth light flashes on the hood but app won’t connect. Can’t think of why I need to connect to my phone other than to be forced to submit my email and date of install, so I’m not too worried about it, but this is a bad look for the company. ### 1/5 — APP - Not maintained / Non-functional *2024-12-29, version 1.1.1* I am interested to know if this app works at all for anyone. The hood+App works basically for one pairing and trial, and then seems to be stuck where the hood doesn’t respond to the app anymore. Support can give you instructions on how to kill power at your circuit breaker to repair for another round of that. Cannot connect to the fan because the window for you to enter the code completely obscures the code.! the remote control is kind of a junkie thing as well. Tried for 20 minutes standing on a ladder and holding phone literally into the unit. Could not have gotten closer. Gave up. Another really bad experience, Zephyr. Pls fix asap!!! ### 1/5 — No good *2026-04-10, version 1.2.3* Hood won’t connect to the internet (WiFi) though the app. Don’t know if it’s the hood or the app, but either way, if you can’t connect the hood to the internet none of the remote features will work. I was able to connect the app to the hood and everything operates as expected. I even have the hood connected to my Amazon Alexa account. ### 5/5 — It’s so convenient! *2021-12-17* I’ve loved having the ability to remotely control my range good from my phone. It’s been great for turning off the fan remotely after I’ve already left the kitchen or even getting alerts for when it’s time to clean the filters! ### 4/5 — UPDATED- The wifi now connects and the App works *2023-05-10, version 1.1.1* Be warned- spend $1500 on a vent hood and the app is garbage and doesn’t connect. UPDATE: They are sending me a peripheral to enable the proper connection. I am going to come back and update this review if indeed the bluetooth pair functionality works UPDATE 5/10/23: The new peripheral arrived and the device now connects and I am able to control it wirelessly with Alexa as advertised. I believe the wifi adapter was originally not shipped due to the global chips shortage as a result of supply chain COVID interruptions affecting nearly all businesses. I am leaving 4 stars as the app could use some improvements and still crashes from time to time but the Alexa functionality is working which was my main concern. But I’ll also second all these other comments about the hood losing connectivity…not to mention the fact that you have to sign in over and over again whenever you want to use it.
