For select models you can customize your motorcycle’s performance, assemble your own dashboard, relive your rides, monitor your bike’s whereabouts and so much more with the Zero Motorcycles NextGen App. NextGen 2.13.0 combines all the best features of both of Zero Motorcycles’ previous app offerings to date, with compatibility with the entire Zero Motorcycles range from 2013 forward. App Features Zero’s NextGen App works with the bike’s dash and Cypher II or Cypher III operating system to create a feature-rich ecosystem. 
Common features for these models include: * Select and create ride modes * Personalized dash options * Scheduled and target-based charging * Charging station location assistance * Extensive notifications, including state-of-charge (SOC), time-to-charge and last-ride statistics. * Ride data: location, speed, lean angle, power, torque, SoC, energy used/re-generated * Remote diagnostics and Cypher III updates * Provides ownership data when connected to Cypher III motorcycles * Model restrictions apply. Remote location still does not function properly. ### 3/5 — Not Intuitive *2026-05-06* Love the motorcycle, the software and app are crazy making. Very poor software, not at all intuitive. I figured out much of the bike by fumbling around, since the manual is inaccurate in so many places. For $20 K I would expect things to work simply and smoothly. The manual should explain things in detail rather than the simplistic and inaccurate way it hints at how to do things. Just say it the way it is with all the alternatives, instead of dumping us in a menu that doesn’t look anything like the manual. There are two buttons on the handlebars marked “mode”. Really? One of them has a single function, which is not “mode“. Trying to register this bike is the first thing I can’t stand about it, and the Dealer agreed he couldn’t figure it out either. Come on guys, this bike has been around for years, edit your own manual and get it right. The bike itself, fantastic. ### 3/5 — Not good *2026-03-31, version 2.13.0* I wish there was more reviews online about how the workday app and every time it says, customize your digital display it never changes on my zero motorcycle ### 2/5 — When will we get landscape mode? *2026-03-18* Shoving all the gauges to the bottom 25% of the screen in portrait is not landscape. Landscape mode should use the whole screen like portrait does but orient the text so that it isn't 90° off from how you're holding the phone. Since you won't let me customize the screen on my Zero FX at least allow me to have custom gauges on my landscape phone mouned just above the motorcycle's display. Instead the text is oriented portrait whether I pick landscape or reverse landscape. ### 2/5 — Bare minimum *2025-11-24, version 2.13.0* It’s frustrating that the app display doesn’t orientate to landscape even though the setting is laid out as an option. The only thing it’s good for is custome regen and torque.
