### 2/5 — Great bike, app needs work…

*2022-05-01*

I love my purchase of the motorcycle, the performance and the handling, but the app is a bit clunky and lacklustre. I was able to customize my settings but my ride screen setup does not translate to my bike. It’s a bit frustrating.

Zero, I think you need to improve the app tremendously. Please provide updates.

### 2/5 — Custom mode trouble

*2021-10-20*

I managed to pair it with my 2021 FX, but the custom settings never stay applied. I’ll set it to my desired settings, and when I leave the menu and come back, it’s back to the default settings. I wish there was an “apply” button that would lock in the custom settings.

### 2/5 — Custom Mode is clunky!

*2021-07-01*

Most of the time custom mode adjustments will not save or apply my changes. Doesn't seem to matter if I'm connected live with Bluetooth or just playing with the settings while not connected. Ex: Open App, go to custom settings and make reasonable changes like 90 MPH, 90 Torque, 0 regen, 100% brake regen. No way to "apply" or "save.". The. Exit and go back in to view & my new settings end up defaulted back to prior.
Very occasionally works as expected but I can't figure out the magic steps to save or apply custom changes consistently.

### 2/5 — Demo mode is a pain.

*2021-03-24, version 2.1.0*

Would be nice to remove demo mode for people who own a Zero and don’t need it keep switching into demo mode when not connected to the bike. App doesn’t really show you much history when in offline mode. Can we get the App syncing data so you can see more in offline mode, when away from the bike.

### 2/5 — Broken

*2020-06-03*

When I start the app it turns to the portrait mode and goes displays a dash screen and I can’t get out of it. I can’t do anything with this app.

### 2/5 — Update the App

*2019-03-25*

You have to update the application ASAP. “Back” button doesn’t work which means you can’t customize your bike. A lot of features are missing that would be easy to implement as well.

### 2/5 — IOS12 support broken for ‘13 models

*2018-10-21, version 1.5.0*

As soon as I updated to iOS12, broke the Eco mode bringing the top speed limit to 0, locking rear wheel as soon as I left the throttle. Had to switch to Sport mode as the only option. Always a SW bug that can be dangerous

### 2/5 — App needs work.

*2018-07-25*

Since the last update the performance section does not work at all. Overall, after owning the bike for 3 years the app has worked correctly maybe 15% of the time. Great when it worked. So unreliable I don’t even look at it anymore.

### 1/5 — Ancient App

*2017-12-02, version 1.4.0*

This app is super old and half the features are buggy or don’t work properly. An update is definitely needed to make it useable.

### 1/5 — Drops when adjusting custom settings

*2017-04-18*

This is a pretty serious bug. The Bluetooth connection drops when I attempt to change the custom settings. The bike is now stuck with the custom settings that I originally set last summer. An attempt to reset to default settings had the same effect: dropped connection, and no change to settings.

### 1/5 — Intrusive

*2017-03-13, version 1.2.0*

EVERYTIME I start my bike the phone asks me for permission to connect. This is just stupid. I get all my gear on, I setup Waze, I get my tunes playing etc whilst in the house, I then put my gloves on go outside and 'arm' the bike. Now the Zero App launches all on its own, replacing the Waze satnav app I really want to see, but to make it even worse presents a pop up alert meaning I now have to take off the gloves I just carefully put on to cancel the alert. Seriously Zero, sort this out. If I want to use the App, I will open it, don't force open it every time I turn my bike on, and give me an alert every time I turn the bike on and off or when it re-establishes the connection.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2017-02-26, version 1.2.0*

Drops Bluetooth consistently, zero says it needs to be updated when calling
What's the holdup???

### 2/5 — If you're going to write an app, make it work correctly

*2016-10-01, version 1.1.0*

The app works for driving mode, but Performance mode never registers any data if you reset statistics.

I complained to Zero and still no update…

### 1/5 — Broken by iOS 10

*2016-09-22, version 1.0.9*

No longer works if you upgrade to iOS 10.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Worthless App

*2022-09-13*

Zero, get your act together. This app makes an otherwise great motorcycle frustrating. It will NOT save changes to the custom mode. There is no other way to change settings in custom mode without this app. Since the app simply doesn’t work, the motorcycle really only has “Eco” and “Sport” modes.

### 1/5 — Remote connect doesn’t work with v20

*2021-12-12, version 2.1.2*

I have a Zero SR/f and use an iPhone 12. Since upgrading from v19 to v20 i can’t connect remotely to the motorcycle !!
That makes Zero communication false advertising and this is very annoying to see that a so-called upgrade is making the product worst.
Zero has a very bad reputation with software bugs and their inability ou unwillingness to fix things.
In the meantime they release a new business model based on software upgrades. Not serious

### 1/5 — App will not sync my custom settings.

*2021-10-01, version 2.1.1*

No matter how much I try to adjust my custom settings or if I power on or turn on the bike or whatever this does not sync the settings to my motorcycle @250motomark

### 1/5 — Horrible. Not worth your time

*2021-02-21*

Horrible app. I can’t think of anything good to say about this app. Subtracts from the bike experience. Every single time you turn the bike key on or off it freaks the app out. You get multiple messages about loosing connection or asking your permission all over again. Custom ride options don’t stick. Charging AMPs jumps all over so much you can’t tell what it’s really doing. Firmware update fails every single time.

### 1/5 — will not connect

*2020-12-01, version 2.1.0*

tried an android first and now tried an iPhone and neither will connect. Called zero app’s customer service and they couldn’t figure it out either

### 1/5 — It’s crap

*2020-08-12*

Rarely connects to the bike. When it does connect, it shows a connection, but the app will not function. Eventually, it says that it lost the connection, despite the fact that the phone shows that it it still connected. I recently had the firmware updated on the bike by a technician, but that did not resolve the problem. I have to travel 120 miles to get the bike serviced, so the app is critical, however it has not functioned properly in over two years. This, and the lack of a nearby dealership, is causing me to drastically lower my opinion (and reviews) of Zero Motorcycles.

### 1/5 — Crappy bikes with horrible customer service!

*2019-03-29*

I have two identical Zero DS bikes. One went dead at only 3k miles and the other died at 250miles after only riding it a dozen times. They said they didn't manufacturer extra parts so no one can fix them and thus the warrantee is just a lie. So I have two pristine bikes that are practically brand new and are completely useless! DO NOT BUY FROM ZERO!

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2018-07-21, version 1.4.2*

Custom settings don’t save!

### 1/5 — Bugs

*2018-07-20, version 1.4.2*

Major bugs. Back button doesn’t work.

### 1/5 — 2013 DS pairing issues

*2018-06-30, version 1.4.2*

I have to restart my iPhone, unpair the bike and repair the bike, then open the app every time I want to use it. If it disconnects I have to repeat this 5 minute process. Not usable or ideal. Please fix this. I love my zero, but need usable data.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Ebike enthusiast

*2013-02-21, version 1.01*

So cool that you can tune the bike with the app!

### 4/5 — Not the Worst not the Best

*2020-08-05*

Basically, this app is a basic EV companion to the Zero Motorcycles before 2020. I find it most useful if I’m trying to see what my battery voltage and voltage balance is (to get a more accurate idea of my SOC) and also to see things that aren’t visible like the temps on the CPU or Motor. The custom drive mode doesn’t always work correctly when I attempt to edit it, a more seamless connection that updates faster would be appreciated there - otherwise, all in all, I can’t really complain about this app. It does exactly what it says it can.

### 4/5 — Bien

*2018-08-18*

Manque quelques infos .
Peut etre mettre quelqu'un sur un redesign de l'app . Ca fait tres 2014 .
La pub deroulante sous la photo ; pas nécessaire

### 4/5 — Works well with the bike, no major issues

*2017-05-06*

Syncs easily with bike. Live data update is appreciated. Not sure why it always seems to kick back to demo mode?

### 4/5 — Works "ok"

*2016-02-26*

Works most times. Need some bugs worked out still. Pretty accurate also. Gives great torque and hp mods.

### 4/5 — Just bought my ZERO - Sync'd right up

*2013-02-23*

Thanks for making it free guys...

I think the only extra would be a notification when the battery is at a rider selectable level of charge ("ding" = charge level is 90%).

### 3/5 — Buggy, still needs improvement

*2018-08-31*

1. If the app and the bike are both on, the app only shows the driving screen (5 panels). Cannot exit to make changes unless I turn off the bike.

2. Cannot customize top speed. In Demo Mode, the slider works. When I turn off Demo Mode, the slider is static and stuck at “0”.

3. Customizing would be super useful if I knew what the settings were for Eco and Sport modes, so that I can compare.

### 3/5 — Options

*2018-06-09*

The app could use a couple of improvements to provide additional info for my 2017 Zero S. (1) On the stat screens (not the Riding screen) only Trip 1 is shown. Showing Trip 2 and Lifetime mileage, cost savings, etc would be beneficial to see too. (2) For the Custom settings on the Drive Setup screen it would be helpful for the app to show the preset Eco and Sport settings too so I have something to compare my custom settings against.

### 3/5 — Partial functionality

*2017-09-01*

Connects via Bluetooth and offers additional information while charging and riding. The customization option is not working with the latest version and my 2014 zero DS. My dealer tells me that a fix is in the works. Would be nice.

### 3/5 — Love the motorcycle, hate the app

*2015-06-20, version 1.0.7*

Motorcycle is my favorite bike ever, but the app is dated and full of bugs. Kind of works.
