## What is ZeroPercent?

Phone batteries die. ZeroPercent makes sure that's never the moment you can't reach your people.

When a phone runs out of battery, gets lost, or is stolen, its owner can borrow a phone from someone they trust (a teacher, shop or station staff, a friend) and open zeropercentapp.com in the browser. They sign in with three things they already know: their own number, their date of birth, and a 6-digit Zero PIN. Their people are right there, ready to reach. Nothing to install, and they sign out before handing the phone back.

YOUR PEOPLE, IN ONE PLACE
• On your plan: your family or Duo, using ZeroPercent together
• Backup contacts: anyone else you'd want to reach, like grandparents, friends or a coach. They don't need the app, and they confirm once on our website

HOW FAMILIES USE IT
• The adults who run the plan see everyone's battery at a glance, and get a heads-up when a phone is about to go dark
• Teens join with an invite code, and an adult who runs the plan approves them
• Couples, housemates and solo adults use it too. Everyone has people they'd need to reach when their phone dies

WHAT ZEROPERCENT DOES
• Battery levels for the adults who run your plan, with honest "last checked" times
• A short list of people you can reach from any borrowed phone
• Rescue sign-in from any phone with internet access and a supported browser
• A calm heads-up at 10% and 5%, before your phone dies, not after
• A practice run, so you know exactly what to do

WHAT ZEROPERCENT DOESN'T DO
• No location tracking
• No message monitoring
• No app-activity reporting

The adults who run your plan see your battery, whether you're set up, and how many backup contacts you have, the number only. They never see who those people are.

Reaching your people by text from a borrowed phone is free, for everyone on your plan, for good.

Not on iPhone? The full ZeroPercent works in any browser at zeropercentapp.com.

### 5/5 — Great idea for an app!

*2026-09-28*

Really good app. Great that no data is saved.

### 5/5 — Game changer

*2026-09-25*

Son was at a festival and his phone was stolen, he used this to contact us. Simple, and very effective.

### 5/5 — As Advertised

*2026-09-23*

Set up is easy and works well. Perfect for a safe way to communicate when batteries die

### 5/5 — A lifeline…

*2026-09-23*

What a simple, yet clever, tool this is. It makes perfect sense in a world where we’re all so reliant on our phones. This is a must for parents…particularly those sending their kids off to the other side of the country to university. This could be a genuine lifeline!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-09-23*

Great app. Lost my son at a festival this summer when his phone died so this will be a lifesaver

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2026-09-21*

This app just doesn’t work. After setting it all up it suggests you do a test. Here you have to enter your PIN. I entered the right PIN which it said was wrong. I reset but the new pin didn’t work either. Just rubbish. Makes me worry it’s a scam app to get your personal data.

**Developer response:** Thank you for this, and we're sorry. You did nothing wrong. When you set your PIN and then set it again a minute later, a safeguard designed to stop a stolen phone being taken over treated the second one as a change and paused rescue sign-in for 24 hours, without telling you why. That was our mistake.

It's fixed now: your PIN works, the pause is lifted, and we've put a year of Pro on your account as an apology. ZeroPercent never sells or shares your details; you can read exactly what we hold at zeropercentapp.com/privacy.

If you'd give the practice run one more go, we'd be grateful, and if anything else gets in your way, hello@zeropercentapp.com reaches us directly.

Thank you for being one of the first to try ZeroPercent.

James, founder.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.8 — 2026-10-06

Battery heads-up, now more reliable.

• A low phone keeps reporting its battery even in Low Power Mode or after ZeroPercent has been swiped away.
• Admins can tap Check now for a fresh battery reading.
• Call or text from a low-battery alert, using your own phone.
• Admins choose when the first heads-up arrives and how often a quiet phone is checked.
• Clearer pages for each person on your plan, a simpler notifications screen, and our logo on the home screen.

### 1.0.7 — 2026-09-29

A fresh new look, and an easier start.

• Setting up is now a few short steps: you, your PIN, your family, notifications, backup contacts and your plan.
• With someone now? Show a QR code and they scan it with their phone's camera to join your family.
• Joining a family is simpler. Enter the invite code, see which family you're joining, and reach your backup contacts while you wait to be approved.
• When you approve someone, say who they are to you, so everyone on your plan is easy to tell apart.
• The Me tab shows what's left to get covered, and tells you when you are.
• People shows everyone on your plan and your backup contacts in one place.
• Tapping a notification now takes you to the right screen.
• Fixes a crash when tapping a notification on iOS 27.

### 1.0.6 — 2026-09-25

See who's on your ZeroPercent plan and who your backup contacts are, each on their own page, and easily add them straight from your contacts. Your backup contacts now confirm via our website, so you know they're ready. A small ! icon shows when something needs you in the app. Battery alerts at 10% and 5% are more reliable. Plus lots of small fixes.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-09-23

Your Zero PIN now protects your account on a new phone. If someone ever takes over your number, they still can't get in without your PIN.

Choosing a plan is clearer. After you set up your trusted people, you'll see what Free covers and what Pro adds, and you can try Pro free for your first month. Free stays free, always.

New in Settings > Notifications: an optional "Offers and tips" switch. It's off unless you turn it on.

When you join a family, the app now tells you exactly what the people who run it can see. Any member can turn off the low-battery alert about themselves in Settings, and the Messages list is now there for members too.

If someone leaves your family, the code word is reset and everyone is told, so a rescue text can always be trusted. Your trusted people screen shows who still needs the new word, with a one-tap way to tell them.

Setting up is tighter: your Zero PIN and family word are chosen before anything else, on the same six-dot keypad the rescue site uses, and the country picker starts on where you are.

Plus smaller fixes and tidy-ups.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-20

Joining a family is simpler, and safer to do.

• Join with one tap. The invite link takes you straight in, with no code to type twice.
• When you invite someone, choose whether they are an admin or a family member before you send the code.
• Approving someone now shows you who is really asking: their verified number, their age group, and what they will be able to see. You can decline, too.
• Add your family as trusted contacts in one tap from your family screen.

Setting yourself up comes first.

• The people you would reach, and your Zero PIN, now come before inviting anyone else.
• A reminder on your home screen if you are not covered yet, saying exactly what is missing.

Smaller things.

• A guide at zeropercentapp.com/guide, linked from Settings.
• Your family code word has its own row in Settings.
• Share ZeroPercent with a friend from Settings.
• Removing a trusted person asks you to confirm.
• Face ID before adding or changing who you can reach.
• Clearer instructions when you ask someone to be your trusted contact.
• Messages and alerts are more reliable.
