## What is Ziggurat?

Step into one of humanity's oldest games. Ziggurat is a beautiful, modern take on the Royal Game of Ur — the 4,500-year-old strategy and dice race first played in ancient Mesopotamia.

Roll the four tetrahedral dice, move your seven pieces along the sacred path, land on rosettes for extra turns, and capture your opponent before they bring all their pieces home. Simple to learn in a minute, deep enough to enjoy for years.

HOW TO PLAY
Each turn you roll the dice and move one piece. Land on a rosette and roll again. Catch an opponent's piece on a shared square to send it back to the start. The first player to move all seven pieces around the board and off the far end wins.

ABOUT THE GAME
The Royal Game of Ur was discovered in the Royal Tombs of Ur in modern-day Iraq and dates back to around 2500 BC. These rules follow the version reconstructed by Irving Finkel of the British Museum. It's a perfect mix of luck and tactics — a game that has entertained people for thousands of years and still does today.
