## What is Zimaam | زِمَام?

Zimaam puts a calm, deliberate pause between you and the apps that pull you in.

Instead of relying on willpower alone, Zimaam asks one simple question the moment you open a distracting app: "Why am I checking?" Take a breath, watch the countdown, and decide with intention — close the app and win the moment, or continue on purpose.

WHY ZIMAAM IS DIFFERENT
Most screen-time tools just count minutes or slam the door shut. Zimaam works with your attention, not against it. The mindful pause creates a small gap where a real choice can happen — and over time, those choices add up.

THE MINDFUL PAUSE
• Open an app you've chosen to limit and a full-screen pause appears with a calming countdown.
• "Close & win" to put the phone down and keep your streak alive.
• Or type a reason and continue — so even when you keep scrolling, you do it consciously.

DAILY LIMITS & TIME-UP
• Group the apps that distract you and give each group a daily time budget.
• When you reach the budget, a gentle time-up screen lets you know your time is done for the day.

SCHEDULED BLOCKS
• Set block windows like bedtime (22:00–07:00) or work hours.
• During a block, the app simply isn't available — perfect for protecting sleep and focus.

STREAKS THAT REWARD CALM
• Stay under your limits and build a daily streak.
• Earn streak freezes so one off day doesn't undo your progress.
• Set rest days when you don't want a day to count against you.

PRIVACY FIRST
• Zimaam is built on Apple's Screen Time API. The apps you pick stay on your device as opaque tokens — Zimaam never learns which specific apps you chose, and your per-app usage minutes never leave your iPhone.
• Zimaam never reads your messages, notifications, photos, screen contents, or browsing.
• Your reflections and reasons stay private to your account. Nothing is sold and nothing is used for advertising.
• Delete your account and all your data at any time, right from Settings.

WORKS THE WAY YOU DO
• Light and dark themes.
• Full English and Arabic support, including right-to-left layout.
• Encouragement reminders you can fully customize — or turn off.

Zimaam asks for Screen Time permission so it can notice when you open an app you've chosen to limit and show the pause. Notifications are used to bring you back to that pause screen. You grant both yourself, and you can turn them off anytime in iOS Settings.

Take back your attention — one mindful pause at a time.
