Very annoying. It’s a bit slow to load too. ### 2/5 — Very disappointing *2024-03-21, version 2.9.0* I have invested quite a lot in Zimi products over the last 3 years - and they are not cheap. A smart product is dependent on a smart app. The last update is seriously flawed: it often shows incorrect On/Off status of lights and power outlets, often does not respond ,or is so slow it is easier to flick the switch manually. The Zimi concept is fantastic, but the app is simply not good enough. ### 2/5 — Bugs *2023-06-21, version 2.5.0* Electricity consumption reading doesn’t work since last update. Zimi support is aware of it but doesn’t provide patches. This is quite disappointing for anyone who bought their devices for this feature. ### 2/5 — Getting worse and worse *2022-05-25, version 2.3.0* I have had the Zimi Cloud Connect with the Garage Opener and Sensor and it’s getting worse and worse to the point the Zimi Cloud connect reports offline and have to go and reset it, works for the first day and then again offline. So for me makes the product useless. Over telco data network doesn’t seem to work that well. Over my wifi take time to find it and then provide me the option to open my door. By that time I have found my keys and don’t bother with it. Again, it’s becoming a useless product which seems to be wasting power where your selling point for some products is to save power. At first when I purchased it, seem to be working fine. But has got worse and worse. 2 stars because I have seen it work well like 1 year ago. ### 3/5 — Not bad just reliable for me. *2022-01-11, version 2.1.2* Application random logs me out & devices are touchy at best sometimes requiring a full reset. Not to mention when the app logs me out all my devices disappear. The account section doesn’t allow me to edit my personal details instead giving a “cannot retrieve user data” message, tried on multiple accounts, multiple devices same problems. When it is working however devices are super responsive and application is super simplistic, the energy meter is an awesome touch in theory but with the random disconnects it just doesn’t work for me. Also can’t connect my Zimi Cloud Connect to my 2.4Ghz Wireless access point. ### 3/5 — Primitive but reliable *2021-01-03, version 1.9.0* It’s competing against more flexible products out of the box available at Bunnings for less! Sure they need wifi and don’t mesh over bluetooth but this means one network across lots of sites or buildings. Powermesh needs multiple zimis managed as separate sites = so basic Powermesh really need AppleHome, Alexa and IFTTT support to work around the basic and limited options. Take the app’s all lights off option: it doesn’t recognize multi button switches with a load not unassigned, or assigned to GPO, as lights so it doesn’t turn them off. Zimi does not allow GPO energy consumption to make decisions so its limited as is reporting on energy usage across a whole site. I could go on but the slow development cycle that is probably a reflection of slow sales is going to kill this product. Unclear set up instructions, troublesome to set up & connect to pre-existing wifi network. After set up, more than 75% of the time, there is so much lag in the app activating, sometimes up to 8 minutes, before garage door can be opened or closed. Often, we have to be right in front of the garage door for the app to work so it defeats the purpose of having an e-door which should be able to remotely open when we’re away from home. Poor performance despite the Zimi device being the only other device located within 30cm of the Wifi router. A lot of lag to operate *2025-12-29, version 2.10.0* Purchase a Zimi bundle for our garage door. Tech installed hardware, ZERO assistance with software. DIY installation was a terrible experience - instructions that came with Zimi device are poor, inadequate, badly written. QR code took us to Zimi Pro instead of Zimi app. On the positive, Helpline was very helpful. After install, user experience has been poor. Lag time in it connecting to garage door can take up to 30 secs, device goes offline regularly. Trying to share or add family members to network is another pain - again, POOR instructions. Takes a lot of guess work & trying different options if one is not an IT tech. On the iPhone 16, can’t tell sometimes if the door is up or down. Need to scroll down the phone to view the entire slide bar for the app. Why on earth would one need so many slide bars for the garage. Programmed by someone who does not know how many panels a garage door has?? This is not our first garage door or home automation device. We can compare with others including Eufy, Merlin MyQ and Grid Connect. WORSE experience ### 1/5 — Not up to scratch *2025-04-08, version 2.10.0* App is need of regular updates so many bug issues not being addressed ### 1/5 — Don’t buy the garage door controller. *2025-03-28, version 2.10.0* Bought the control for my garage door to be able to use it if someone lost their keys or needed to gain access to our house. It is worthless. Tried to let my father in law in while we were out of town. Can’t tell if the door is up, down or cracked. It seemed to just open a few inches and stop every time. Don’t bother with this just get an electric door lock. ### 1/5 — Disappointing and unreliable *2025-01-03, version 2.10.0* We have a newly built home with more than a dozen wifi linked devices. Unfortunately Zimi controls our garage door. When asking google to open our garage door from our car the response half the time is “oops something went wrong” and we have to try again. When using the app it takes between 20 and 60 seconds to locate the door. In our previous home we had the B&W app which worked perfectly and instantly everyone. I cannot understand why tech that’s 5 years newer would be so second rate. ### 1/5 — Connection *2023-11-25, version 2.8.0* Won’t connect and when it does it takes forever. Not much hep when searching for troubleshooting. ### 1/5 — Fan Controller Slide Bar *2020-04-28, version 1.6.7* The app combination fan speed/on-off slide controller has two issues. The first, the incremental speed settings on the fan speed controller are so close together it is difficult to select individual speeds. Very small finger movements are required to select any one of the seven fan speed settings making a great concept very time consuming and frustrating as it takes multiple attempts to select the desired speed setting. Recommend employing speed buttons (0-7) to ensure the right speed is easily selected. The second problem also relates to the speed slider and could be resolved by employing the recommendation above is the on/off function of the fan speed slider bar. When adjusting the fan speed it regularly also turns the fan off and then on. This occurs inadvertently due to the proximity of the on/off portion of the slider to the speed button and due to the size of the speed controller button. Please look at fixing these issues. Please resolve this issue. Otherwise, I am plan on replacing my fan switch due to these issues with a standard rotary knob controller. ### 1/5 — Good concept cloud is useless *2019-12-06, version 1.6.4* Great use but in-house blue tooth have to get very close and very slow to acquire powerpoints. The cloud I hopeless. I have tried trouble shooting a hundred times all different ways and has only worked one when I was not at home. When you open the app to connect to the garage door opener it takes a while, sometimes doesn’t connect so you have to restart the app and then guess what! The switches sometimes has Bluetooth signal issues and it refuses to take command from this app. STRONGLY ENCOURAGE developers to include a DARK mode which activates with iOS Dark Mode. ### 3/5 — So far, so good. *2023-06-10, version 2.5.0* We just had a bunch of these installed in our place and so far it looks and works as expected. The two things that immediately seemed like “a miss” for me were the ability to create custom “lifestyles” (I can only lock unused power points and turn off all lights) and the ability to link a switch button to a lifestyle. With two little kids our hands are always full and it would be awesome to be able to link one spare switch button to the “turn all lights off” lifestyle, for example. The only work around I found was setting up an action through GoogleHome, but that required me to add every single switch independently and it is also extremely slow to respond.
