Error code 1." Unreliable app. Looks as if the app itself is decently coded and the process for signing up is sound. That's the two stars. But the back end servers are apparently poorly dimensioned. So it's not going higher than two stars. UPDATE after developer reply : Your answer is unconvincing. On second thought, it's actually worse than I originally thought. Whenever the app is unable to connect to HSBC's backend servers, the user is being kicked out, back to the LOGIN screen. That's not only a backend server problem, that's clearly a UX functionality bug in the front-end app. Rather than the current, incorrect UX functionality, the app ought to keep trying in the background to reconnect, perhaps with some message "please wait, trying to connect" being displayed in the foreground. But in the current app UX, the user himself has to re-login and manually reconnect. That's just poor app UX coding standards, full stop! FURTHER UPDATE : Looks like the teething issues have been all sorted out by now. The App works now for me as it should, like any good bank/card app! Upgrade to 4 stars. While the funds occasionally arrive within minutes, it has sometimes taken up to three days to receive the money. This inconsistency makes it unreliable for emergency transfers. Customer support is unhelpful—they usually respond by saying the funds have been processed on their end and suggest contacting your bank. They also attribute delays to intermediary banks involved in international transfers, stating they cannot guarantee timelines. In my experience, I made two transfers to the same account to test the service. A £25 transfer to my SBI account was credited instantly, but a £131 transfer is still pending. Very secure, efficient customer service, simple banking app with no feature that complicates your navigation experience, safe transactions, another thing I love is that Zing actually have different currency wallets which helps amazingly when visiting friends and family over holidays or other occasions. Just a shame they’ll shut soon because compared to other banks I have no actual reason to be upset or complain.
