Then trying to explain anything to them through email is impossible unless it comes to money because they do not understand what you are telling them. You send them a email for a missed payment well ahead of time. They punish you by lowering your spending power, you reschedule a payment on one app they punish you by lowering your spending power. I used to be able to call zip and explain my issue and I was never punished they used to be very understanding and for the people. I have health issues and I was in and out of the hospital I missed three payments but I payed. I communicated through email I was going to be late. When I was out of the hospital I paid my debts. This was over a $10.00 debt. My account went from $500.00 to $25.00. I have never had my spending amount deducted on any card except through Zip. I understand being charged for paying late but punishing me? Zip grew and changed. Did you forget where you came from? Are you going to lower my spending power after reading this? Out of nowhere it doesn’t let me use my account anymore to purchase but will use the account to allow me to pay. Then tell me my card is no longer accepted. They allow users to change payment dates then in turn suspend their access to the service and charge fees for doing so. It is totally unethical! I needed to make a purchase on my birthday only to be hit with a notice that my account is temporarily on hold due to changing the due date on purchases. I was so disappointed and when I brought it to their attention via chat a representative named Luis hung up the chat in my face. I’m not degrading this app but help shouldn’t cause distress, it should be a relief. It simply isn’t with Zip. So if you’re a consistent user as I am don’t use that feature. It’s not worth the penalty!! ### 1/5 — Loyal Customer Left With No Way to Pay or Continue Using Zip After Years as a Customer *2026-08-12, version 1.252.1* I’ve been a loyal Zip customer since it was Quadpay and have successfully used my Chime Visa debit card for years to make numerous purchases and complete my installment plans. After recently losing my card and receiving a replacement from Chime, I discovered that Zip changed its policy and no longer accepts Chime. Now I have nearly $400 in existing installments that I am actively trying to pay, but Zip will not accept my replacement card, leaving me concerned about potential late fees. Customer service has given me the runaround, and Zip’s Help page is vague about which financial institutions they actually accept. This is not just about paying my current balance. I also want to continue making new purchases using the same financial institution I have successfully used with Zip for years. I should not have to open a traditional bank account or move my direct deposits just to continue using Zip. Existing customers with established payment histories should have been grandfathered in and allowed to replace lost, stolen, expired, or compromised cards from the same financial institution. Zip should provide longtime Chime customers with a reasonable solution that allows us to pay our existing installments AND continue making new purchases, rather than suddenly excluding us because of a policy change. ### 1/5 — Took my money *2026-08-11, version 1.252.1* I made an order with Best Buy and you guys charged my card and later Best Buy says they can’t process the payment so the Best Buy cancels my order I ask for my refund from you guys and you say I have to wait 13 days!!! 13 days to get my money back???
