Notifications is on and push is on . I now only get them through email and that takes a while to come through. Zip notifications were instant . I don’t know if this is a natural progression or as a result of my previous review but either way I really appreciate it. I still have a couple of other improvements I’d like to see. The camera images take ages to load if you have had the app open previously, yet if you force close the app in the app dock and relaunch it the images generally appear almost straight away. I sometimes receive alerts from my security alarm and by time the live image has loaded the event has passed and then I have to start trying to find it in the recording. I’d also really like you to enable split screen viewing on the iPad app so I can be watching the cctv whilst using another app on the other half of the screen. Overall though you have a good app now, with more functionality than the old alien DVR app which I am still using on a few legacy systems. ### 2/5 — Update is a fail. *2022-05-25, version 1.0.3* Since the update 5/22 it is terribly slow to load the Connection to the NVR. It also keeps reverting back to no camera selection so once selected goes by default to the 16 camera view. It needs to remember the last settings in my opinion and not to forget loading quicker. ### 2/5 — Good picture but annoying motion detector *2022-05-24, version 1.0.3* Good picture and easy to use but when it rains or it picks up movement from a shadow off the trees it won’t stop pinging ya phone.. not sure if number 1 or 8 is the least setting for motion but do need fixing please ### 3/5 — Zip cctv *2022-02-20, version 1.0* A few months ago, I came across a system Q magazine, and started looking at this system after doing a bit of research into I thought this is the way to go. I order my system an 8 port nvr. In the magazine it said this model came with rs232, IT DO NOT! It came with rs485 only. I have a smart system so wanted to like it to that, it also said I was able to connect it to Amazon eco 8, I have link it but does not work! So it seems some of the smart features don’t work. I think they need to go back to the drawing board with some of the things they say it can do. Now the good part The equipment it self is not to bad, it was quite easy to set up and got it running in a few hours I like how the app is set out and after using it for a couple of days I like it Would I buy it again yes! BUT i like to know what I’m paying for! Don’t say it can do these smart things and it can’t. Some of the support team are helpful as they have sent me emails with guides of how to set some of the things up. If it could do all what is written on the box it would have got a 5star Donnie 81 ### 3/5 — ZIP Review *2022-01-30, version 1.0* An IOS version of this software for a MacBook would be very useful to extract images/footage when required. Works fine on the phone but not as easy to get the footage as it would be from a desktop. Motion sensitivity would be a huge advantage as it’s hard to sometimes narrow down the time of when people walk onto your property. Find the playback difficult to operate, nor as easy & straightforward as my previous system. Little support for end-users and installer is fed up with glitches he’s given up fitting it and gone back to hikvision. ### 1/5 — I really hate this app and these cameras *2025-02-24, version 5.0.1* The cameras were installed and I absolutely hate the app and the website. There is no user manual, the information online is not for the end user, rather it’s for the sales and installation people. I am not tech dumb, but I struggle to find what I need on the app. At the moment, I need to change the Wi-Fi settings as we have a new Wi-Fi provider and nowhere on the app can I see how to do this. I am also unable to remote access the cameras. I click on the arrow and nothing happens. I have had this system for more than 3 years and I absolutely hate it. The app is not intuitive and there is no troubleshooting data. I can only see from midnight on the same day. Has worked fine previously, but stopped working. Delay in connecting via the app. I’ve had it a couple of weeks but don’t think I can live with it so looking to replace. And the App, even standing next to the DVR and router it takes longer than is acceptable to log into the cameras, so away in another remote location it’s not performing as well as other systems I run.
