Get the best night’s stress-free and undistracted sleep with zLight and its accompanying mobile app. The zLight app is the official 100% free mobile app available iOS, with which users of the zLight Sleep Box can control their device. The zLight app has been made with the same careful attention to detail and minimalist design as the zLight Sleep Box that inspired it. Its easy-to-use interface integrates a wide range of functions that are intuitive and pleasing to use With the zLight app, you’re in full control of your zLight Sleep Box. You can: Quickly and easily adjust your wake-up time. Create schedules for different days. Control the brightness of the light. Change the color gradient. Select a playlist. Play music, and change the track and volume. Routine is nice, but sometimes our schedules can change. That’s why we made scheduling very user friendly. Easily create a new schedule, make changes to existing ones, activate or deactivate them, or just delete them. Through the app, you can also sign up for optional third-party integrations that extend zLight’s functionality and integrate it within your smart home family. Some of these include Google Home and Amazon Alexa. What is zLight? The zLight Sleep Box was designed based on the device Mark Zuckerberg created for his wife. First to market, our zLight Sleep Box displays a faint light that lets you know when you need to get up without having to look at your phone or clock. Health studies have shown that looking at a phone—even with the Blue Light Filter activated—can seriously harm your sleep. The light from your phone suppresses melatonin, the hormone in control of your sleep-wake cycle. It tricks your brain into thinking that it’s daylight, and makes it harder to fall asleep. Notifications and alerts delay REM sleep and can make it impossible to enter deep sleep again when seen during the night. They stimulate your brain, keeping it psychologically engaged, just as it’s trying to rest. zLight avoids all of this by breaking the sleep-wake cycle into its most minimalist elements. You either need to wake up, or you don’t. The time is irrelevant. Tell it when you want to wake up, and forget about checking any of your other devices. I can’t access any of the features because I can’t connect to the device now. Truly frustrating after such a long wait to get it in the first place and having work normally for over a year. ### 3/5 — Early in app lifecycle but generally ok *2021-03-18* Obviously early software and that’s fine, would be great to have a setting to automatically turn the light off a set time after the end of a sequence? App operation is not that obvious but you can figure it out! ### 1/5 — Device is good, app doesn’t work *2021-03-06, version 1.0.3* The schedule feature doesn’t work at all, which is the main reason to buy this device… ### 1/5 — Make an update to turn off light when alarm end *2021-01-12* There’s no way to turn off the light automatically when the alarm ends. I don’t want to keep the light on all day. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work. *2020-12-30* Lights didn’t change on the sleepbox when it was scheduled to change. Renamed each difference schedules but once I closed the app...all them got changed back to default name ‘Schedule’. What a waste of money on the sleepbox when it requires an app to operate it and the app doesn’t even work! ### 1/5 — Does not follow user settings. Sleep disrupting *2020-10-20* Will not obey user settings. Will not turn on and off using app button. Has reverted to sleep disrupting bright ugly magenta light at all times that will not turn off. Destined for the garbage pail. Deleted and reinstalled app, tried alternative device, unplugged for a day and restarted. Still defaults to ugly bright magenta light . Does not respond to off button nor any user settings. An expensive magenta night light, but no other reliable functionality. ### 2/5 — Needs an automatic turn off *2020-10-20* It’s a nice light, but sometimes I forget to turn it off during the day. Seems like this app should include some sort of automatic “off” timer so you don’t waste electricity or the life of the light. ### 1/5 — Needs a lot of help *2020-09-18* My light turns on at random times throughout the day and night. You have to manually open the app to turn it off. The scheduling function works for the most part. But if you delete a programed schedule, the light continues to turn on at that previously scheduled time. I have tried unplugging and resetting my box, deleted the app, etc but my box continues to turn on at the previously scheduled times even though those schedules have been deleted. There is also an option to set a default light color. This option appears to do nothing because my light is never the color I chose. ### 1/5 — Scheduling function doesn’t work properly *2020-09-10* The scheduling feature never works right. It turns on with the wrong color and brightness. It sometimes turns on earlier than scheduled, or randomly when there’s nothing scheduled. Once the light is on, it won’t turn off by using the app, and your only option is to unplug it.
