Between the ads taking up the top of the screen and the large buttons for the other cameras on the bottom, you can barely see anything ### 1/5 — Work few days later no work *2017-10-12* Work fine later no work more ### 1/5 — Video steam not working anymore *2017-10-12, version 1.3.0* Use to work fine but now suddenly longer streams video from my security cameras. Its always good when an app does what is advertised and just works out of the box. I downloaded it put in my url and bam....there were my 6 monitors. Even more impressive because my server is not at /zm (nor is it on standard ports80/443) which also changes the path to everything after that including the api directory. Interface is pretty basic and simple but I like that. Im also a developer and understand the hassles with displaying video from several sources and several sizes too. Ok. That was the developer talking but I'm also a sysadmin. If you are an end user you may not be aware of this side of things. Viewing a single monitor brings up the rest of them in thumbnails. Because of this you are basically doing a montage regardless of wether you view a single monitor or a montage itself. A ZM video stream is sent to your browser/app as a full sized frames and the app handles sizing. You can change that btw at the server but even set like this to reduce server load, as soon as I open a single monitor my server load doubles. A "w" on my server showed load at .49/.49/.53. Within 1 or 2 minutes that went to 1.20/.78/.60. More than double actually. W, for those that may not know, gibes you system load averages over 1/5/15 minute intervals in most nix type OS's. Just going back without closing the app all the way didn't stop the load. Going to a different app or multitasking does disconnect the streams and the load went down at that point. Im just one user. Sending this to several office employees or a security team would require some serious resources and a pretty beefy server. A single view should be a single view. At least an option. Its well known that montage hammers the server and bandwidth. If you don't have some pretty decent hardware behind this (like ur workstation at home is doubling as you zm nvr) then I would use this app sparingly. At high load zm can do crazy stuff like miss events or create false ones because it could read the whole frame before the next arrived. The end user in me likes it other than where the ads are places in the free version...at the top of the video covering the top 20% or so:( Overall I'm not displeased just not doing cartwheels;) I didn't uninstall it. ### 1/5 — Never worked *2017-09-24* Never worked and I paid money for it. ### 2/5 — broken for zoneminder 1.30.4 *2017-08-12* just upgraded our server to 1.30.4 and now zmView no longer displays any streams (stuck on the loading wheel) ### 1/5 — Does not work with latest zoneminder *2017-08-02, version 1.3.0* Got the latest version of zoneminder installed and running but when try and view the camera just get a spinning icon and never loads the camera feed. ### 1/5 — Don't work *2017-06-09* I've been using it for years but it stopped working recently. It was working flawless before update. I use ubuntu 16.4 with zm 1.30. ### 3/5 — Works but needs work *2016-11-07* Pros: not as awful to use as ZmNinja, and free to try. Worked on the first attempt. Cons: doesn't appear to be any PTZ support. Interface is clunky for 2016 and uses nonstandard elements. THE WORST PART: View a camera in Live mode and the Google AdSense as COVERS THE IMAGE. Not sure if this was on purpose or not, but it needs to be changed either way. It doesn’t work at all, there is no help and it took my money for the pro version that doesn’t appear to do anything. It's incredibly slow and most of the time it just doesn't work. It won't load the images at all when you click on a recording for example. There is no scroll bar to quickly scroll down to 20 recordings ago. They are listed in pages and you have to click next page or previous page not knowing what time any of the recordings on the page were taken. Unbelievable. I don't know how something so poorly designed and executed can even get in the app store? Half the time it crashes and a hard re start doesn't always make it work. ### 1/5 — Video feed does not work *2019-09-13, version 1.3.0* Unable to view video feed in any view, which makes this app completely useless. I installed Debian Linux on an old PPC mac and then installed Zoneminder. I can now use this app to view live video or recordings. This version corrects an issue with the filtering for old versions.
