### 4/5 — Mr

*2024-12-03, version 5.1.0*

Very good App

### 4/5 — Easy to use

*2024-11-13, version 5.1.0*

Daily update takes only a few seconds and good to know I’m helping to track national symptom trends that may spot future local and national outbreaks of disease

### 3/5 — Cant log in

*2024-10-09, version 5.1.0*

No option to reset password very frustrating

### 3/5 — Used to be more user friendly- changed for the worse

*2024-10-04, version 5.1.0*

I’m very disappointed that the app changed from the very simple original interface, to now comparing against your normal symptoms. It makes it far more confusing to use, which meant I had a gap of 242 days since my last login, but that’s why I never logged.

### 3/5 — creating an account

*2024-07-16, version 5.1.0*

i’ve tried everywhere online to make an account and there’s nothing. in the app when i press don’t have an account? it does nothing. is this a bug?

### 3/5 — Decent app

*2024-06-23, version 5.1.0*

The seems decent enough and the objectives of Zoe are well worth supporting. As a Long Covid sufferer, I struggle to see any immediate / short term benefit to those effected by Long Covid. The app doesn't help with managing my symptoms, and I am still to see any concrete results from the research. Hopefully, as more data it gathered via the app we will start to see some tangible benefits for Long Covid sufferers.

### 3/5 — Minor Problem

*2024-03-30, version 5.1.0*

In the last few days I have submitted a change in my health but I get to a form which says scroll down to say okay but I have not been able to scroll down so the problem a torn hamstring has not been resolved.
This is still a problem after many months so you should have sorted by no. Please ensure you test your application or get me to as clearly you are not doing so. I have an iPhone 11 if that helps. You have April 24 to sort or I will mark you down as only one star.

### 4/5 — Dr Rick

*2024-03-18, version 5.1.0*

I’ve been using this app pretty much since it started: I think it served a very useful purpose (as a medical researcher myself). I’m continuing to use it: I hope it’s still useful. Sometimes, it doesn’t seem to notice that I’ve reported: when I open it, and try to respond, it tells me I last reported “2 days ago” or “3 days ago” - wrong, I did respond the previous day. Software glitch, perhaps.

### 3/5 — Dr Tony newey

*2024-03-07, version 5.1.0*

Possibly out of date (the app and me!) and no age related information requested.

### 3/5 — Out of Date

*2024-02-16, version 5.1.0*

The app seems to be becoming out of date. If you go to their linked website the articles are about 3 years or more old, so no one is “giving back” in that respect. When it was heavily embroiled in the Harvard & Kings College studies the app & website were more relevant. Makes me wonder honestly why I’m still spending the time reporting as I’m not sure if anyone is even using this study anymore to be honest.

### 2/5 — Login errors almost daily

*2024-02-11, version 5.1.0*

The app nudges me every day for a report, as expected, but several times per week I get login errors of one kind or another so that I have been signed out and can’t report without logging in again which is really off putting…

### 4/5 — Reminders Stopped Working

*2024-01-31, version 5.1.0*

I have loved being a part of this study. However, I no longer receive reminders. Most days I remember to open the app myself but once in a while, I forget. If this feature could be fixed, I would appreciate it. I have deleted and reinstalled the app but still receive no notifications. I wrote and received no response. I am using an iPhone. Thank you.

### 4/5 — Good in principle

*2023-11-19, version 5.1.0*

I have logged symptoms on the app for a number of years, and can only do this on my mobile. When unwell recently the app kept freezing and wouldn’t let me submit my data. I deleted and reloaded the app several times, but this made no difference.

### 4/5 — Emails

*2023-11-19, version 5.1.0*

Need to make adjustments to app so that we are able to change email address

### 5/5 — Quick and easy

*2023-11-06, version 5.1.0*

This seems to be a good way to track data related to Covid variants. Symptoms may give a better view of actual cases. It takes a few minutes to setup if you need to look up information on vaccinations and test. Once it is setup, it takes less than 1 minute a day to complete. Dr. John Campbell tracks the spread of the virus on YouTube using data published from this app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2024-12-15, version 5.1.0*

I can't get past the screen where I add my email. I've deleted the app, restarted my phone, and downloaded it again. Crashes at the same point. When I open it again, it fills the screen with, 'Take 1 minute each day ...' every time. With no option to join, next or any other way to get rid of this screen other than closing the app. I'd like to participate.

### 1/5 — Can’t log in

*2024-08-03, version 5.1.0*

Can’t log back in as there’s no forgotten password option and can’t create a new account as the “don’t have an account?” link doesn’t work either :(

### 1/5 — Reminder notifications stopped

*2024-06-07, version 5.1.0*

In the past few years this App prompted me to report daily. However, recently after a change to an iPhone 15 and hence a more recent version of iOS it fails to remind me. I’ve tried all sorts to make work with no joy. Perhaps an update for the latest iOS will help. Failing that it will be deleted. It would be a shame as it is useful.

### 1/5 — Completely unethical app

*2024-02-24, version 5.1.0*

The swerve from being a covid symptom checker to a companion to the dietary scam Zoe app is morally corrupt.

### 1/5 — Fancy having your data monetised?

*2024-01-21, version 5.1.0*

When Covid hit, this seemed an inspiring glimpse of a better future - citizen science, big data, the nation coming together volunteering their time and data to help beat the pandemic, all seemingly without monetary motives and for the public good. Of course this perception was foolish. The hopes that the pandemic would ring in the end of late capitalism were always naive. Post-pandemic, this has turned into a full blown data monetisation platform for Specter et al.

### 1/5 — App broken after update

*2023-10-26, version 5.1.0*

‘Oops something went wrong’ after last update, 5.1.0 with stack trace error message. App opens and still get push notifications but doesn’t load anything.

### 1/5 — Fermented foods study

*2023-10-10, version 5.1.0*

Really want to participate in the fermented food study, but the app keeps saying I am not on the newest version yet it says I am… Nothing about the fermented study comes up. So sad.

### 1/5 — Update not working

*2023-10-10, version 5.1.0*

Started inputting covid symptoms after a while of not using. All fine until updated. Now won’t work on phone, can’t input answers. V annoying.

### 1/5 — Can’t download this update!

*2023-10-02, version 5.1.0*

I’ve been using this app for some years but cannot download this update.

### 1/5 — Trying to update

*2023-10-01, version 5.1.0*

Hi, I clicked the update on screen, got sent through to an application screen, couldn’t see anything that said ‘update’, on open, back to the update screen. Please advise how I am to proceed. Thanks.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent App

*2025-05-27, version 5.1.0*

This is a well-designed, intuitive app.

### 5/5 — Useful

*2025-05-25, version 5.1.0*

Mostly intuitive and easy to use.. a few little idiosyncrasies but nothing to worry about. Much better since the ability to edit your profile, cos that can change in a medical sense.

### 5/5 — Keeping track

*2025-05-23, version 5.1.0*

I love that I have been able to keep track of all my testing and vaccines in one place.

### 5/5 — A good App!

*2025-04-23, version 5.1.0*

We have been using this app since it was first released, and find it to be easy to use. We hope that the data is valuable to researchers and policy makers.

### 5/5 — Pivotal moment in human health

*2024-11-07, version 5.1.0*

The Zoe ideas and information behind this app are of profound importance to our understanding of our health. The app provides very useful guidance to help us make the right choices when buying or consuming food.

### 5/5 — Desert Island Discs

*2024-03-31, version 5.1.0*

Encouraged me to rejoin…

### 5/5 — Old faithful

*2024-03-03, version 5.1.0*

I’ve used this app throughout the pandemic, whenever it first was created. And I’ve recorded every single Covid test I’ve ever taken, and every positivity I’ve ever had for myself and my family. I really appreciate this app. I only wish that the current CDC guidelines weren’t so weak and that we had better guidance as what to do. My son had no fever and very mild symptoms which seemed like his spring allergies and now there’s no guidance in absence of fever.

### 5/5 — Mr B

*2024-01-18, version 5.1.0*

I thought the app was very good and the questions there are very good

### 5/5 — I’m a regular contributor

*2023-12-31, version 5.1.0*

It takes a few minutes each day to complete and only a few more whenever you have a new symptom.

### 5/5 — Informative & Easy

*2023-12-28, version 5.1.0*

Being no techno, the app is so easy to navigate. The content is exceptionally informative about important new discoveries regarding health, with some of the biggest community studies to prove the results. Top rating from me - I’ve been part of the Zoe journey since I started logging during COVID.
