## What is Zolt?

Zolt is an adaptive body coach to help you lose fat, build muscle, and maintain healthy habits.

Zolt helps you reach your goal body with intelligent, personalized coaching. Whether you're cutting, bulking, or maintaining, Zolt adapts to your body every day using your own data and not just static formulas. We use an adaptive TDEE algorithm (also known as dynamic TDEE or dynamic expenditure) to help make sure you always are on track to reach your weight goals.

Start with your goal. Zolt handles the rest: tracking, adapting, and coaching you toward it.

Adaptive TDEE & Macros That Evolve With Your Body

- Zolt estimates maintenance calories from your logged calorie intake and body-weight trends, then uses that estimate to adjust targets for your goal. Apple Watch calories do not drive the learned TDEE estimate or its updates. You can use adaptive TDEE without a Watch.

- Your macro goals also adjust based on your progress, protein preferences, and dietary focus. Everything is personalized, yet effortless.

Personalized Calorie Goals for Every Phase
- Zolt supports your current phase — cutting, bulking, or maintaining — and evolves with you over time. Weekly and daily check-ins help you stay consistent while your nutrition plan flexes as your weight, training, and goals shift.

- Zolt doesn't just set targets, it guides you through every plateau, push, or reset.

Smart Food Logging with Barcode, AI, and Recipes
- Log meals with speed using AI-powered food search, barcode scanning, and custom recipe creation. Track full macros and micros, not just calories, and set flexible RDA goals based on your preferences.

- Zolt turns food tracking into a seamless, personalized experience that supports your goal — not one more chore to manage.

Activity Goals That Adjust to Your Energy & Training Load

- No one-size-fits-all goals here. Zolt creates daily movement targets that respond to your actual recovery, energy, and recent workouts. Whether it’s a normal day, a recovery day, or a performance push, your goals adapt accordingly.

- Cardio load metrics like TSB, ATL, and CTL help guide intensity over time. You train smarter, not harder.

Recovery and Sleep Insights from Apple Watch Data

- Zolt pulls from your Apple Watch to deliver real recovery insights — not just pretty graphs. Your sleep, HRV, resting heart rate, and SpO₂ are translated into recovery scores and readiness ratings.

- You’ll get actionable tips to improve sleep quality and reduce stress, and a habit journal to help identify what’s boosting or breaking your recovery.

Health Journeys and Habit Goals That Align With Your Big Picture

- Zolt lets you go beyond weight to build your ideal lifestyle. Group goals into “Journeys” like longevity, performance, or energy and track habits like steps, cardio, sleep, hydration, and more.

Zolt is more than a health tracker. It's a body coach that evolves with you.

Smarter guidance. Clearer goals. Better results.

### 3/5 — Sleep and recovery

*2026-09-13, version 2.6.8*

This week my sleep and recovery readings aren’t working they work on my watch and on my fitness pal apple health please sort this as I won’t be renewing if it don’t work

### 1/5 — Last update fixed some lag but broke adaptive TDEE, TDEE history, and nutrition sync.

*2026-09-08*

Last update fixed some minor lag but unfortunately completely BROKE TDEE. My entire TDEE History chart is now blank and it’s miscalculating my TDEE by 1000s with the Zolt adjustment also heavily inflated. It seems the issue is it’s no longer registering any entries for weight or food logs since it’s suddenly saying there’s not enough history - shows 0 entries entered for this week and last - despite the fact that there are logs for all the days going back a year. And I’ve tried syncing to force a correction in all the ways possible - pulling down, syncing option in TDEE section - except nutrition sync in setting section because that’s broken too. Every attempt made is quick to say sync failed. I really don’t understand why every update is worse than the last. I’m beginning to wonder if any thorough test runs are done prior to these updates being submitted. Bummer because this was a good app when I first subscribed to it. And I can’t even export my nutrition data to go elsewhere because it only lets you export weight history, and clearly nutrition data was not syncing to the supposed server anyway since the sync is broken.

**Developer response:** Hi! I'm sorry you ran into this issue. This issue affected a small subset of users with the last update and it should be fixed now as soon as you update to the newest version.

Again, really sorry - feel free to email me at hi@zolthealth.com too!

### 2/5 — So much potential but just doesn’t work

*2026-07-20*

I mean literally does. Not. Work. Data appears and disappears at random, things take forever to load (if they load at all). I completely sympathize with the fact that it’s just one developer doing everything here and that kept me using this app for longer than I would have otherwise, but after a week of infinite refresh/retry/reload, I’m just too frustrated by this app to keep going.

**Developer response:** Hi! I'm really sorry to hear about all the issues you've been having. The latest updates resolve most of these issues and there's an announcement going out soon to explain what happened.

I hope you come back and give Zolt a chance again, there's a lot of great stuff coming up!

### 3/5 — Ugggh

*2026-07-16*

I want to love this app. It has everything I want in a fitness/meal tracking app. The problem it only works for me about 25% of the time. It freezes or gets hung up adding items and then I have to force close it. I have a goal to track my meals every day and it’s already a struggle for me because I find it incredibly boring. When I try to use this app and it takes me about 5 minutes before I can get the correct things to load I’m not going to do it. I’m pretty disappointed. Especially since I paid for a year subscription.

### 3/5 — Stopped working

*2026-06-11*

I really loved this app but now for more than a week all of the features I use do not work AHA level, heart rate zones, cardio load, and adjusted maintenance calories all stoped working. They all get stuck in a state of loading and will sometimes flash until a second until the whole app freezes. Making it useless.

**Developer response:** Hi there! I'm sorry you ran into syncing issues! Most of these issues should be fixed in recent updates.

### 1/5 — Literally most frustrating app

*2026-06-07, version 2.5.1*

Buyer beware! Do not pay for this app. Most features are unusable. Total scam.

### 2/5 — Used to be Great

*2026-05-20, version 2.4.9*

It's gone down hill. I loved this app but now I cannot get my watch to sync. I can't get my photos to load to upload a nutrition label. Support hasn't answered my last two messages for help.

### 5/5 — Data nerd’s dream come true

*2026-05-04*

Simply put, this app tracks so many variables and creates near real time analyses on how those variables impact things like your TDEE, sleep, recovery, energy levels, etc. Easily worth the money.

I haven’t used the in app AI for food tracking yet, but I use a separate AI to help me meal plan and track all my intake, then provide me end of day totals in nutritional label format which I use Zolt’s nutrition label scanning feature to input it as one meal at the end of the day.

UI is not always intuitive but workable. Instructions are sparse and it can be buggy sometimes but the developer is *extremely* responsive and seems genuinely enthusiastic about integrating fixes and adding more features.

### 1/5 — Great concept poor execution

*2026-03-30, version 2.4.1*

The app is buggy beyond belief, it doesn’t import macros stored in Apple health all the time and when it does it’s not accurate.

### 3/5 — The idea is good, but the execution is very buggy and chaotic

*2026-02-18, version 2.3.9*

Overwhelming UI/UX, excessive information, and most importantly, clunky and buggy

### 2.7.5 — 2026-10-22

Activity and workouts
• Redesigned the Exercise page with date, sport and metric controls above your figures, whole-week selection, workouts listed when you tap a bar, and activity targets that scale to your selected dates.
• Choose Apple heart rate zones and sync your zones and selected source across devices.
• Workout insights compare recent sessions and recorded pacing when there is enough reliable data. Heart rate charts preserve timing and peaks.
• Cycling power calculations use the FTP recorded at the time of the ride and time-weighted samples.
• Automatic workout check-ins and weekly habit progress stay up to date after health syncs. Time-based habits show hours and minutes.

Food log and Journal
• Try the new Log tab in Settings → Experimental → New Log tab. Food and Journal have their own tabs, meals appear as cards with logging controls, and suggestions can be swiped to log or hide for the day.
• Journal item pages now require Pro. Free accounts can still edit and delete their items.
• Fixed custom foods with special characters failing to open, suggestions opening under the wrong meal, and meal sharing failing silently.
• Quick add now uses a calculator icon, and water in the food log shows a droplet.

Reminders and Coach
• Meal reminders skip meals you have logged, learn your usual meal times and use your logged calories and remaining targets. Use “Log same as yesterday” directly from a reminder.
• Notifications open the matching screen. Monthly progress photo reminders fire correctly, and onboarding trial reminders stay scheduled.
• Coach can compare workout heart rate training load and zone times, plus cycling power, cadence, TSS and recorded power zones.

Health sync and polish
• Widgets show the last saved numbers when Apple Health is slow to respond.
• Weight sync and TDEE backups wait for the signed-in session to match the active profile.
• Weeks run Monday to Sunday across every app language. Overnight vitals show a clearer message when data is missing.
• Localized weight goals, restaurant builders and permission prompts, with translation fixes across the supported languages. Zolt now declares its seven languages to iOS.
