Chapters are also very short, maybe about 20 ish minutes long. Great characters, great story and intrigue. Keeps you constantly glued to what’s happening. Good personal expression. Felt like my choices really effected things and mattered. Loved having personal attributes but felt they didn’t really have a very big impact. However, abrupt horrible ending. Felt like a complete switch up. Almost like okay your done by now I don’t care anymore. Unfortunately, there is no place to record my name or even a button to hit to save it. I’m very frustrated! I have paid $ and it seems like the only way to play is if I go back to the beginning. I got so invested in these characters! This is coming from a guy who hates reading too. This game is incredible. The paywall is a tad annoying but I feel like it was money well spent (it’s $6 USD total. First two parts free, last three paid). I say you should just dive headfirst into this game. No second thoughts. Needless to say, I will be getting the sequel. However I find myself having to repeat my game as the the checkpoints are so far apart and I think it would be more fun if when I die I don’t have to start from the beginning of the chapter. So that’s why I gave it a four and not a five. ### 5/5 — Revisited as an adult *2020-12-31* First time I played this, I was 13 but couldn’t get far into the story due to pay walls. As an adult I managed to cross paths with this game again and now I was capable of playing the game in its entirety and I am SO glad that I could. This “Choose Your Own Adventure” is extremely captivating, and makes me feel like a kid again wondering what I would do if at this moment, zombies started roaming the Earth. The characters are realistic, the dialogue isn’t cheesy, very few moments where it becomes unrealistic in terms of human capability. This game alone has rekindled my creativity spark and I can’t stop thinking about building my own world and making an interactive story or game similar to this, and man, just absolutely love this game. I can’t even appropriately review this game, zombies are like a “special interest” to me and this is really the only interactive story that puts you in a zombie apocalypse. ### 5/5 — Amazing game! Holds a special place in my heart HOWEVER that’s not to say there is SOME issues, the stat screen is very dated but that’s not a worry. I will say however, since my last play through, hosted games have added forced ads. You get around 8 pages or less reading and you’re forced to either pay £5 once or wait 20 minutes. Every few pages. Frankly, it’s incredibly off putting and it’s genuinely ruined the experience of the game for me. I have all the parts purchased yet now being forced to pay. Little pricey considering I’ve read a bunch of text based games/stories which are more forthright in their pricing strategy and way cheaper. Another thing bothering me. I’m female. It seems I’m a male throughout. Why even give me the option right “bro”. Lots is speeling (lol) mistakes. I love a good story especially a choose your own adventure or choice based story told in a compelling and dynamic way. Sadly my purchases no longer register as me having owned them with my iPhone vrs when I was android. I may consider buying the series again. Apple buries it under a mountain load of the same-old, same-old games. This is unique. And I mean that. In the almost ten years since I first found and played it for the first time- I have yet to find another game app that comes anywhere close to being like this one. I’m a world full copies of copies of copies- being different is some kind of special. I have played these two zombie story games through more times then I can count at this point. I don’t generally spend money on mobile games but I did pay the one time 4.99 charge for the extra options and story. It was worth it. I come back to it time and time again and with the hours upon hours this game has spent entertaining me..I absolutely got my money’s worth and then some. The creator of this game is genius and I think he deserves more respect, recognition and I’m sure more financial gain then he gets. I mean that.
