### 4/5 — Fun but limited

*2021-04-22, version 1.2.1*

You complete levels, defeat bosses, then change to a harder game mode and all the upgrades are lost, why? Why build up characters of every game they go back to base levels?

### 4/5 — Can y’all add the option to save your progress?

*2021-04-13, version 1.2.1*

This game is fun and all but I wish I Can save my progress like I was at the lava level and I lost and I end up in the beginning of the game and that was so aggravating to start all over again. What the point of adding the "new game" and "gallery" if u can’t save your progress.

### 4/5 — Very fun but confusing

*2021-03-01, version 1.1.1*

I really enjoy the game! Roguelikes are fun and it's cool using the different characters and the unpredictability of what you're going to pick up and I feel like the challenge level is right. The only thing I don't like is that I have no clue what's going on really. I know the game is a sequel but I don't want to have to play the first one to understand the second one. There's a loose plot, and I have no idea how to get the other endings. Also some of the smaller mechanics aren't explained very well. Sometimes the pinball shrinks and it can slide right between the flippers. No clue why that happens or how to avoid it.

So overall, very fun to play. Good mix of skill, luck and just having fun. But I have no idea what's going on really

### 3/5 — Could be fun

*2021-01-31, version 1.0.2*

As with most pinball games on a touch screen where you can’t feel any buttons, this game suffers from not touching the right spot at the right time.

I’m blown away that this game doesn’t support controllers on iOS. I thought that was a requirement for the arcade? Considering it’s the only way to play it on Apple TV.

When the game first came out it supported controllers and had a few bugs (which is clearly why they chose to drop controller support) but it was great! Very fun game. Great graphics, great gameplay, and the difficulty was good, but I’m glad they changed it a bit.

I’m keeping this game downloaded for the day I can play it again with my Nimbus+, but I’m not holding my breath.

### 3/5 — No save points???

*2021-01-30, version 1.0.2*

I love this game but (and maybe I’m missing something) if you die, you have to start all the way back at the very beginning again. Why does the game not save and force you back to the beginning of whatever new part of the map you’re on? I’ve had to play the forest so many flipping times and it’s kind of killing the game for me. If I’ve got it set wrong, please let me know because this is going to make me uninstall the app soon enough.

### 4/5 — Very fun game with some frustrating bugs

*2021-01-04, version 1.0.2*

I’ve been enjoying this game a lot — fun, fast paced, nice extensive development of difficulty level. Unfortunately, there are some very irritating and frustrating bugs. For example, sometimes the ballista reshoot and the ultimate skill vanish from the battles, never to return. Curses can stick after they’ve ended. I can’t figure out how to get to the tutorial level so I can’t unlock that achievement. And so on. Fix the bugs and it will really be one of the best of Apple Arcade.

### 4/5 — Fun Game, Great Concept

*2021-01-01, version 1.0.2*

Can’t give it the full five stars due to a bug at the final boss that continuously makes your ball disappear after launch, deducting 17 health each time. You fight your way to the end only to get screw. Not sure why this happens but when it does, you’ll know it.

### 4/5 — Great start, needs some touch ups

*2020-12-19, version 1.0.2*

First off, love the game, everyone should check it out. Here’s my ideas for improvement. First, make healing potions usable when you want, not automatic. Second, allow the player to pick ball skill when starting game. I’ve beaten normal with every character, and can’t beat it on hard. huge difficulty jump. A endless game play option would be fun. Please add more in game info, a game with an encyclopedia for a NPC should not be so hard to decipher. Love the game!

### 3/5 — Meh

*2020-12-18, version 1.0.1*

The mechanics, enemies, and power ups themselves are great. The game is incredibly fun to play at a glance.

Unfortunately, once you die (which is often, intentionally) you have to grind back up. That ultimate you liked? Poof. The supports? Bye bye. Stats? lol dream on. There is no progression to speak of whatsoever, full stop. You get a “legacy” chest your next go around but it’s generally just some gold. Lameeeee.

The more I play it the more it feels like the devs forgot to finish the rest of the game. At the same time, I’m still playing. So, they’re doing something right.

### 5/5 — Fun, but want to listen to something else

*2020-12-16, version 1.0.1*

Fun game but it would be greater if I could listen to my podcast, music, or audio books while I knock out the zombies. A few bugs (the ultimate level did not appear on one run or the flippers would get stuck in a level) but I has not stopped me from playing. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Awesome game!

*2020-12-15, version 1.0.1*

I have been enjoying this game since the release and have finished over 40 runs, including winning in the normal mode with all heroes and achieving a few victories in the hard mode. The game is based on the "roguelike" mechanics, which means that if you die, you lose most of your progress and have to start over again. What makes this game fun is the variety of skills and items that can be used to complete the game. Whenever you finish a run by winning or dying, you get rewarded with "unlock score", which is used to get access to more powerful and cooler skills and items. Unlocking new things creates a great and addictive sense of progress across multiple runs and does not get boring!

Developers: I was not able to find a dedicated support section on your website, but I want to report the following bugs: 1) ballista stops shooting balls correctly and every shot is counted as your miss; 2) potions and hearts may stop working even though you do not carry any trinkets or blessings that would prevent you from doing so; 3) flippers may seem to get harder to activate(this has seemingly happened to me because of a long blessing list); 4) if you click “spawn villager” and the you win immediately, the game will get stuck on the bonus pick up screen

### 3/5 — Fun, bad progression system

*2020-12-15, version 1.0.1*

The gameplay is an absolute blast but is hindered by the progression system, or lack there of. I’m not a fan or starting over from scratch constantly. The RPG mechanics of this game are great but once you die it’s game over and you start over. Sure, you can unlock new characters overtime by playing more but that’s it. The joys of leveling up your character, getting new equipment, learning new skills and upgrading abilities are demolished once you run out of HP.

Once you die, you get a score and then you progress through some kind of numbered tier (which I don’t understand, no matter how hard I try) to unlock a new character. But remember, the permanent stats of the characters you unlock can NOT be changed. They’ll just be reset once you die and start all over again.

I’m still giving the game 3 stars because the gameplay is well done and it’s fun to play, if not very difficult even at “normal” difficulty. I can get past chapter 3.

### 4/5 — Such a fun game!

*2020-12-13, version 1.0.1*

I love this game. It’s creative and the graphics are fun. I do wish there were more worlds though and that you could keep playing until you die. So unlimited days where the levels keep getting harder. Just an idea.

### 5/5 — My favorite Arcade game

*2020-12-12, version 1.0.1*

I have been pretty hooked on this game since I first downloaded it. It has really fun game mechanics, the level design is unique and I just like how each time you play with each character it’s different based off the power ups in the map that you play

Can’t wait for an update...this is my first pinball game I’ve enjoyed!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Won't even open

*2021-02-04, version 1.1.1*

I've tried several times to play this, to no avail. Each time I hit "Get" it seems to download and install, appears in launchpad on my MBP, but after trying to launch it, it does nothing but sit in the dock. If you go back to the app store, it still says "Get" and will try to download itself again. Going to the support link takes you to the developer site, where the game isn't even listed as an option for support. Not worht the effort.

### 1/5 — Cant get past title screen any more

*2020-12-05, version 1.0.0*

I was playing the game on my 2020 iPad Pro and got through the first level, it asked for my name and after I got it entered it took me to the title screen and the only option is new game, but no matter what I do I cant get it to launch a game, I even tried swiping the app away to close it, when I open it i get the Apple Arcade animation but back to the title screen. It’s a real bummer cause I was having fun with it.

### 2/5 — Has potentials. But super buggy

*2020-12-11, version 1.0.0*

When it works, it’s fun. But when it doesn’t, it’s frustratingly bad to the point of being impossible to even start. The menu items are not highlighted so you have to guess which one is being chosen. And the starting menu items, sometimes (like 80% of the time) don’t appear on the screen at all. And the screen becomes non responsive at the main menu. Please fix this. The game seems fun.

### 2/5 — A single game ends quickly

*2020-12-05, version 1.0.0*

Could be a fun game, but you lose life quick, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to regain it. They rarely give you potions, but no idea how you’re actually supposed to use them. A play through ends way too quick, not really engaging or making me want to play again at this point

### 2/5 — Can’t start game

*2020-12-05, version 1.0.0*

Got passedThe tutorial levels with aController just fineBut as soon as you get to the screen where you have to start a new game You can’t touch start a new game or any button on the controller that will let you start a new gameSo all I can do is look at the title screen

### 3/5 — Meh

*2023-02-02, version 1.5.0*

It’s an alright game for a few hours or so. Unfortunately it gets very repetitive very quickly. On top of that it is legitmately comical how unbalanced the difficulty modes are. Normal is laughably easy compared to Hard. I mean the game went from being a slight challenge to an RNG headache. Hard doesn’t make me feel more challenged gameplay wise, it just hurries you more and you take more damage allowing for nearly zero mistakes. Wish it were better, but I can only recommend maybe unlocking all the characters on normal, then moving on to the next time-waster.

### 3/5 — Fun game, but insane difficulty spike

*2022-05-10, version 1.5.0*

Like most of the reviewers here, I absolutely cannot get past the Level 3 boss Stone Face. He has WAY too much health and spawns so many clones that it’s overwhelming. I can’t even get him to 50% health because it’s so difficult, which I find ridiculous, because the rest of the game is too easy! I made it all the way to this boss on my first run without dying a single time and now I just can’t get past. Overall it’s a decent game (even though there are numerous spelling and grammatical errors that really take me out of the game) but once you get to Stone Face your game is over.

### 3/5 — One of the best, but buggy

*2021-04-13, version 1.2.1*

I’m playing the penguin princess and just spent literally 45 minutes fighting a boss. Towards the end it wasn’t fun just tedious. Once I finally defeated boneface, I started down the path to the next portal and now I just run in place forever. Quit and restart same diff. No tech support on your website. Coupled with the repeated failed touch registers and no life level indicator plus too tiny type and it’s just not ready for release. Fix these major bugs and it’s the greatest.

### 3/5 — Questionable Control

*2021-03-18, version 1.1.1*

Game is moderately fun, but suffers from control issues. Many of the acquired skills have instructions for controller buttons or keyboard commands, but guess what?? I’im using an iPad and the game doesn’t connect to my controller, nor will accept commands from my BT keyboard. Is this the best Apple can do for a paid subscription?

So far, I’m glad that I’m using a trial version of Apple Arcade. There are a few good games, but nothing better than I can get for free or close to free if im willing to suffer through a few ads.

### 3/5 — I would give it more stars, but it crashes too often

*2021-02-16, version 1.1.1*

I have really enjoyed the game, but now I’ve reached a point where the game crashes every battle on a current generation IPad Air. I don’t know if it puts too many effects out there than it can process at one time, but seeing a hard crash over and over at the same battle is very unusual for an Arcade title, most of which run smoothly.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very addictive.

*2022-05-15, version 1.5.0*

Worth the five stars, just took awhile to get used to using both buttons on the mouse for the flippers

Try it you will be drawn in too.

### 5/5 — Love the game!

*2021-03-07, version 1.1.1*

I am addicted. I’ve been playing this game pretty much every day for weeks.

Love it.

The only thing is this: the English localization is awful. It’s full of grammatical errors, and poor translations. It’s so bad that I’m not sure what some of the power-ups actually do. I’d love a better English version, but the game itself is spot on.

### 5/5 — Insane mode crashes/sticks at final boss

*2021-02-10, version 1.1.1*

One of my absolute favorite Apple Arcade games! One problem, I finally “beat” the Final boss on Insane mode with a character only to have him NOT disappear, I continued to defeat him multiple times but if I walked into the final portal nothing would happen. After my forth time defeating him he finally disappeared but so did the portal. Any thoughts? Simply a bug or a metaphorical insight into the fact that the game represents life and we are never done fighting? Thanks and again, great game!!

### 5/5 — Surprisingly fun.

*2021-02-06, version 1.1.1*

This game is a blast. Not sure what keeps me coming back, but I need to get all the achievements. Would be cool to have a free play mode to see how far I could get to keep the game from getting stale.

### 5/5 — Way better than the original

*2021-01-07, version 1.0.2*

I remember downloading the first iteration of this game and being disappointed. Clearly the developer took lessons from it and improved on every single aspect of the game. Right now I’ve completed normal and hard with everyone except Pennie (who I can’t even beat normal on with) and am trying to get my first hero win on extreme mode. Extreme mode is toughhhhh you have to learn how the support and ball skills work and fortune upon a run where you get some exploitable combination to pwn with.

Aside from that I love the rogue like repeating runs aspect. Unlock road I don’t get why you can’t scroll back to earlier sections of the road already completed. Sometimes I don’t even get a chance to see what I’m unlocking if it moves to the next segment?!

Also I don’t see what tower defense there is other than the bell tower and I guess the totem bombs. Still, despite the lack of TD (I’m a huge TD fan) the game is still a ton of fun, a real gem in the market.

A hidden gem that inspired me to write this review, out of a sense of community mutual benefit. Hopefully someone out there will pay me back by making note via review of any other gem games that might otherwise fly undervalued and under the radar.

### 5/5 — Love this game but . .

*2020-12-27, version 1.0.2*

I love this game! It is becoming my Apple Arcade game. Love the game play and the combination of pinball and tower defense. The play is easy and fun. The story is cute and adds to the game. I do have one small complaint. The flipper buttons move to different locations through out the game. Sometime they are close to and past the edge of the iPad screen. This makes it much harder to control the flippers. I would love to see a setting to relocate the filler buttons and have them stay in one spot. This is a minor complaint and I hope it is fixed in future software update.

### 5/5 — So much FUN!

*2020-12-20, version 1.0.2*

I can honestly say that I am slightly addicted to this game.I'm surprised there are many reviews for it. It's very entertaining and it defintely hold my concentration. I am a little curious about the ending after the boss. Are there going to be other levels or a 2nd game? Either way, it's a must have game!

### 5/5 — MUCH Better!

*2020-12-20, version 1.0.2*

Thank you for tuning the difficulty… makes for a better experience throughout. I cannot wait for the next chapters!

### 5/5 — Stick with it!

*2020-12-19, version 1.0.2*

On each play through, the first chapter makes your character feel weak and the gameplay is boring. The second feels unfair, resource constrained and stressful and I find most play throughs end here.

But if you make it to the third chapter, you discover the real fun of the game. You become super powered and the fights just get insane. The most creative mechanics are found here, too. Chapter three is such a blast and it is somewhat annoying that it takes so long to get there.

This game can throw you some misfortune. The weapons and power ups are not balanced at all and if you get a bad ball or ultimate at the start levels are going to be harder and take longer. This evens out as you advance and find more secrets and like I say, Chapter Three is the reward.

### 5/5 — Definitely worth a shot

*2020-12-17, version 1.0.1*

I rarely write reviews but i see this game only has 4 stars and I think it deserves more. Within the first day of playing this game I was hooked. So much so that I ended up unlocking all the characters and finishing the game on normal mode within a week. After that, the game offers hard and an extra hard mode so you don’t lose motivation if you’re goal-driven.

I love the pinball aspect, I’ve always loved pinball games so this was super fun and a creative spin on a classic. Additionally, each character has unique ball power ups which are fun to discover and there are so many other types of power ups to collect and play with which ensures a different gameplay each time and makes it definitely replay-able. So far, I haven’t run into many glitches, or if I do it’s while I’m on the map so I just exit and reload,

My only suggestion is to add more maps, new shelter/discoverable areas, or new “tables” other than that, great job with the game
