## What is ZombieUP?

YOUR WORKOUT. YOUR WEAPON. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.

Every mile you run, ride, or swim kills zombies. ZombieUP turns your real workouts into a survival RPG — the more you move, the harder you hit the horde.

Connect Apple Health and your runs, rides, swims, walks, and gym sessions sync automatically. Distance, duration, pace, heart rate, and elevation all become kills, XP, and resources for your crew. Your watch is already doing the work — ZombieUP turns it into a fight for survival.

HOW IT WORKS
- Work out in the real world — run, ride, swim, hike, lift.
- Open the app and watch your kills roll in.
- Level up, earn loot, and grow stronger with your squad.

WHAT YOU GET
- Apple Health sync — workouts, steps, heart rate, and sleep, pulled in automatically. No Strava required.
- Speed-colored route maps — see exactly where you sped up and slowed down.
- Elevation profiles & kilometer splits — full stats on every GPS workout.
- Kills & XP — every workout is scored on distance, duration, and elevation.
- Sleep is a weapon — consistent sleep, read from Apple Health, earns bonus rewards.
- Build your base — workouts generate Ammo, Meds, Food, and Water for your squad's compound.
- Skill trees — your real training shapes your survivor.
- 200+ badges, personal-best loot crates, and workout highlights that call out your PRs.

SQUAD WARS
Challenge a rival squad or school team to a 7-day head-to-head. Rally your roster, watch the live scoreboard, and out-train them to win.

COACH MODE
Coaches build a weekly training plan, track every athlete's progress, post announcements, and get a private command channel. Perfect for cross country, track, and club teams.

JOIN A SQUAD
- Form a crew and every active member boosts the whole team.
- Group runs and rides multiply your kills — just show up together.
- Live meet points and squad chat to rally the resistance.

CLIMB THE LEADERBOARDS
- Global, local, and squad boards — filter by age group and sport.
- Weekly elevation leaders.

NOT INTO ZOMBIES?
One toggle switches to clean training mode — the same tracker and stats with calm, no-gore language.

FREE TO PLAY
No subscription. No pay-to-win. Every kill and every level is earned through real physical effort.

ZombieUP uses Apple Health data only to power your in-game progress. It is not a medical app and does not provide medical advice.

The horde won't wait. ZombieUP — run for your life.

### 4/5 — Fun and Motivating, not much to do

*2026-07-17*

It is a fun game to motivate the workouts, but there isn’t much to do yet

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback, we have been uber focused on the workout portion of the app and getting all the bugs worked out with workout syncs and making sure the health data is there and our favorite feature of the where to meet and where we end up after a workout in the raid details. We will try to start working on the game mechanics some more and make it more fun in "fun mode" any suggestions at all, please visit zombieup.com and let us know more!

### 5/5 — Can find my friends!

*2026-07-10*

I love how I can track where people are when we have a meet up for cycling!

### 5/5 — Makes the workout

*2026-07-03*

Makes the workout more fun, new ways to compete wth friends and family

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.1.6 — 2026-08-28

A better welcome, and a smarter home.

THE TOUR - New survivors now get a proper briefing before diving in: what
your heart-rate zones actually mean, how every run, ride and swim gets
broken down (splits, route map, elevation, personal bests), group rides
with meet points and arrival check-ins, what we read from your sleep -
and then, saved for last, the part where it is the apocalypse. Pick a
survivor name and plant your flag on your local leaderboard.

ONE THING AT A TIME - A fresh install starts with a single mission: sync
your first workout. Supply runs, live ride, events and the rest unlock
as the reward instead of greeting you as a wall of features.

ROAMERS - Some supply caches are guarded now. Clear them with ammo for
DOUBLE supplies, or send your companion in once a day for free: the dog
takes them down, the cat slips you past, the Trash Panda causes a
diversion.

SLEEP ON THE CARD - Every workout now shows how you slept the night
before, right next to your stats. Short night and you trained anyway?
Respect.

MILES, ACTUALLY - Ride and run details, splits, charts and share cards
now respect your Miles setting everywhere.

3D SCAVENGING - The supply map opens in an over-the-shoulder view that
turns as you turn, with arrows pointing the way to every cache. Tap 2D
to switch back anytime.

ALSO - New Country and Techno tracks, event badges showing again, public
rides scoped to your area, clear guidance when Apple Health has no
workouts yet, and fixes throughout.

### 2.1.5 — 2026-08-17

The world outside is now part of the game.

SUPPLY RUNS - Supply caches spawn on the real map around you every day.
Walk or ride to one and scavenge it - the haul goes straight to your base.
Once a week, a golden Named Cache appears on a route you have actually
ridden, with a guaranteed relic inside.

ROAMERS - Some caches are guarded. Clear them with ammo your workouts
earned (double supplies), or send your companion in once a day for free.

COMPANIONS - After a few workouts, three strays start following you: a
dog, a cat, and a Trash Panda. One will stay. Feed them, name them, take
them scavenging. They forage every night - check each morning to see what
they dragged home.

RELICS - 18 collectibles from the old world, in three sets. Display them
on your trophy shelf, or scrap one for supplies and break the set forever.

SCAVENGER RANKS - A second way to level up, earned only by finding
things. You do not have to be the fastest to be the best scavenger.

THE BASE FIGHTS BACK - Buildings now act on horde night: the armory makes
ammo hit harder, the mess hall cooks morale, the infirmary patches damage,
and the watchtower warns you before it happens. Breach damage repairs
through supplies plus your next real workout. Big stockpiles attract
bigger hordes.

REST-DAY RATION - Cook one weekly at the mess hall to protect your streak
for one missed day.

ALSO - Fairer leaderboards (Week board first, active players only, simpler
age groups), new Country and Techno tracks, public rides now only show
near you, and a better welcome for new survivors.

Prefer a clean fitness app? Regular mode keeps all of it, without the
zombies.

### 2.1.4 — 2026-08-07

Fairer standings and a streak that actually means something.

- The leaderboard now opens on the Week board, so the riders
putting in the miles right now are front and center - not
lifetime totals from accounts that synced once and vanished.

- Your day streak now counts real, in-app activity. No more
streaks carried over from old imported history.

- Under the hood: tighter account security and a more reliable
  sync.

Thanks for riding with FOSTA. Keep the pedals turning.

### 2.1.3 — 2026-08-01

A calmer welcome. ZombieUP no longer greets you with a wall of permission
requests. We ask for something only when you actually use it — your workouts
when you first tap Sync, location only when you start a live ride, notifications
only after you've synced. Each ask explains why, and what stays private.

Your privacy, explained. The welcome screen now spells it out: your health data
stays on your phone, under-18 routes are never public, everyone 18+ can hide
where they start and stop, and your email is never used for anything.

Live Ride. Mount your phone on the handlebars for a live heads-up display —
route, pace, climb grade, heart-rate zone, and a running kill counter as you go.

Ride music. Pick an era (80s, 90s, 2000s). Never interrupts Spotify unless you
hit play.

Your own camp, the weekly horde, and a smarter way to send aid between squads.

Plus fixes and polish throughout.

### 2.0 — 2026-07-21

REAL ACCOUNTS
Your ZombieUP account is now properly yours: locked to your Apple ID, restored automatically on a new phone, and protected so nobody else can read or change your data. You'll be asked to confirm it's you once, with Face ID. Everything carries over - kills, streak, squads, badges and history.

STRONGER DATA PROTECTION
We rebuilt how the app talks to our servers so every request is tied to you personally instead of a shared app key. Groundwork we wanted in place before ZombieUP grows, especially with school teams coming on board.

ADD CHASE TO WORKOUT
Already recording in Fitness, Strava or anything else? Open ZombieUP on your watch and add the horde to a workout that's already running. It rides along without touching your recording. Starting a ZombieUP workout used to end the one you were in - that's an Apple limit on running two at once, and this is the way around it.

ON MY WAY / I'M HERE
Tell your squad you've left, and check in when you get there. Everyone attending sees who's arrived and who's still en route, so nobody's standing in a parking lot wondering if it's happening. Check-in is automatic when you reach the meet point, with a button if you'd rather do it yourself.

EVENT REMINDERS THAT ACTUALLY SHOW UP
Reminders were only being set the moment you tapped "I'm In", which meant recurring events, events you created yourself, and anything after a reinstall quietly never reminded you. Fixed.

NIGHT-BEFORE HEADS-UP
A 7pm reminder the evening before, on top of the 30-minute nudge, so an early start doesn't sneak up on you. Both switchable in Profile, under Event Reminders.

WEEKLY AND DAILY LEADERBOARDS FIXED
Week and Today were showing lifetime totals for anyone who'd synced recently, and emptied themselves out entirely at midnight. They now show what you actually earned in the last 7 days and 24 hours.

ALSO FIXED
- Sign Out now properly signs you out
- Squad alerts no longer fire when someone just opened the app without logging a workout
- Your history no longer shows empty entries on days you didn't train
- Smoother scrolling when switching leaderboard ranges
- The last of the placeholder workout and route data is gone for good
