## What is Zonos App?

The Zonos app (formerly Zonos Prepay) allows you to prepay duties on international postal shipments. Snap a photo, AI auto-fills customs details (or enter your own), check for import compliance, pay in your currency, and get a QR code/Declaration ID for U.S. shipping.

Easily calculate and prepay U.S. duties with the Zonos app. Just snap a picture of the items you’re shipping, and our AI fills in the customs details for you, including calculating duty cost. Review/edit the information, pay instantly in your own currency, and ship with confidence. Prefer to enter your item information manually? That’s supported too (no photo required).

How It Works:
1. Create a free account.
2. Select the post you are shipping with.
3. Click “Add items manually” to enter your item information yourself, or click “Take a picture” to take a photo and have the app auto-populate your item information. You can include all items in one photo, or take multiple photos. Note: Only include items that are shipping within the same box. If you are shipping multiple boxes, only enter and pay for one box at a time, so you get a Declaration ID for each box.
4. Review/edit the item information, then click “Calculate duties” to get the duty costs and associated processing/clearance fees for your shipment.
5. Pay in your own currency. Payment covers both duties and the clearance/processing fee.
6. Present your QR code/Declaration ID at drop-off to confirm duties are prepaid.

The app is very glitchy and even though I’m just trying to return something that I bought from an American company it still wants to charge me duties. Now not worth refunding it. Do not buy anything from the USA and do not use this app.

It is way overpriced just to process digital paperwork, you can’t use it without an account, and it tries to steal your location data. The fact Canada Post requires this is utterly intolerable.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback. Location access is optional, you can decline it and the app works the same; accepting it only defaults your postal carrier for convenience, but it is not required. Our fees are per shipment with no subscription, and they're shown in full before you pay. They don't just process the paperwork, but also guarantee the duty amount paid so you and your recipient don't have to pay anything more, even when tariff rates change. This is the worst system ever… your fees are not consistent, it falsely calculates, and it’s not user friendly at all.  Absolute nonsense.

米国向け発送（日本郵便）で使ってみたけど使い辛すぎる
日本郵便経由でアメリカへ発送するためにZonosを使いましたが、使い勝手が厳しすぎたので率直なレビューをまとめます。

・後戻り不可の「一発勝負」仕様
支払い未完了・確定前であっても、一度次の画面に進むと前の画面に戻って修正ができません。修正したい場合は最初からやり直しになります。「とりあえず送料を見積もる」「後で確認して修正する」といった使い方が一切できないのがかなりのストレスです。

・発送先の保存ができない
発送元の情報は保存できますが、発送先の情報は保存できません。リピートで送る宛先であっても、毎回ゼロから手入力させられます。

・ポンコツAIによる逆効率化
送る品物を写真付きで1つずつ登録する仕様です。盗難や破損保険のためと理解はできますが、AIの自動入力精度が低く、全く違う商品情報を勝手に入力されてしまいます。しかも読み取り時間が無駄に長い。結局「AIが入力した間違った情報を消す作業」から始まる始末で、設定でオフにもできません。
正直、現状の仕様では時間と手間がかかりすぎて、継続利用はかなり厳しいと感じました。

**Developer response:** Thank you for the detailed feedback. On the photo requirement: photo capture is a requirement Japan Post set within the app flow, so it can't be turned off, but every auto-filled field can be edited after the photo is taken. If a field comes back wrong, you can correct it directly rather than starting over, and we're happy to walk you through that at support@zonos.com.

On going back to a previous screen: once duties are calculated, we intentionally lock editing for that shipment to avoid gaming undercollection. However, we are looking at ways to make it easier to make edits before calculating duties, such as saving your progress along the way up until the duty calculation.

Saving destination addresses is a fair request, and repeat shippers shouldn't have to re-enter the same recipient every time. It's the kind of friction we're working to reduce.

We know the app adds steps to a process that used to be simpler. Feedback this specific helps us prioritize, so thank you for taking the time to write it up.

Will randomly decide you didn’t enter the HS codes so they can charge you duties on items that wouldn’t normally incur duties just so they can charge extra. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!

**Developer response:** Hi Lopiken, when you ship something that is duty-free, there can still be a processing/clearance fee. This is always clearly shown before you click the "Pay" button (it's in the summary with the total duty cost, total fee cost, and the total cost, which is directly above the "Pay" button. The "Pay" button also includes the total you are paying). It will be clear anytime you make a payment, exactly how much you are being charged, before you enter your payment information. Duty payments made in the Zonos Prepay app are guaranteed (this is another reason for the fee—even on duty-free shipments, if something changes between when you pay and when we are billed, and duties become due, we pay that ourselves).

アプリ落ちまくってAIが虚偽の税金上乗せ申告してくるのを治そうとするとアプリが落ちるから余計な税金を払わざるを得ないゴミ犯罪アプリ。結局最後の最後まで問題が解決出来なかった。このアプリを必須にしたアホはどう責任を取るか説明しろ。

Setting up the APP it kept freezing and then stuck on its lengthy privacy statement. It took three tries to set up.

Does not work well at all, the HS code have to be entered in EXACTLY the right format otherwise it won’t work. The app absolutely wants to use their garbage AI API to identify the product but half the time it timeouts and there is not error handling code for that. Avoid if you can but sadly you cannot
