Auto-filled fields can always be edited before payment, and we'd like to look at what caused the crashes that kept you from doing that. The app absolutely wants to use their garbage AI API to identify the product but half the time it timeouts and there is not error handling code for that. Avoid if you can but sadly you cannot ### 1/5 — Orange man make tariffs *2026-08-02, version 2.1.0* Bad ### 1/5 — A joke. *2026-07-29, version 2.1.0* Was making a shipping label to America through Canada Post until halfway I was suddenly told to download this app. Downloaded it to find I was expected to pay nearly $400 CAD in upfront duties on a $995 item before Canada Post would even print me my label. What a joke! 🤣Immediately pivoted to FedEx who handled everything for just $68 total with no garbage third-party app required. Canada Post has pretty much handed its cross-border shipping business to its competitors by implementing this in the most seller unfriendly way imaginable. The app itself is confusing, the duty calculations are jarring with zero real explanation, and the whole experience feels like a trap. 1 star is generous. ### 1/5 — Not working after update. Unknown errors *2026-07-29* Cannot ship because the app is not working after the latest update. I get an unknown error message when adding an item. They most definitely fall under CUSMA (free trade) and the app is forcing me to pay $50 when it shouldn’t. No other way to fill out the customs form. Ridiculous. What a garbage app. ### 1/5 — Issues when submitting items *2026-07-27, version 2.1.0* I’m having issues that sometimes when I submit an item manually I get an error but when I restart the process it works but then bugs out for a separate item. The pictures don’t work, and it tells you to input items manually, but it doesn’t give you the option. This whole thing is awful. All it does is generate ai slop descriptions from some awful LLM, and you expect me to trust my shipment description to an AI MODEL?! A photo is required because your post has made it part of the process within the app, but the photo only pre-fills your item details, and you can always edit those fields before submitting so nothing is declared without your review. I hadn’t shipped anything or even used the service yet, but I was already charged over CAD $14. I literally did nothing, and my shipping cost increased by $14 for no reason. I’m unable to return defective products back to the manufacturer in the United States due to the awful amount of duties that I will be charged AGAIN just to return these items. I’m eating the costs at this point. It’s absolutely ridiculous. It used to be so simple and take 5 minutes at Canada post, but now you have to go out of your way to download an app, try and navigate the stupid thing which doesn’t even work half the time, and then pay 10x more than what you used too. Someone is making a lot of money openly scamming the American people. ### 1/5 — Was forced to use EMS *2026-08-26* For a package under 1999 grams, the AI calculated the weight by the pictures it made me take and even if I carefully picked everything so it wouldn’t surpass 2kg, the app decided my package weighs more than 2kg and forced me to send it by EMS which is 3 times more expensive. The worst idea this government has ever had. We were better without this app please remove this system or at least let customers add and edit the data on their own, instead of leaving it to the IA. ### 1/5 — Awful *2026-08-25, version 2.4.0* I was forced by Canada post to download this garbage app just to ship a small package to the USA. Actually ridiculous. Nobody wants or asked for this. Now not worth refunding it. Absolute nonsense. ### 1/5 — ユーザー目線の使いやすさなんて全く考えてない *2026-08-13* 米国向け発送（日本郵便）で使ってみたけど使い辛すぎる 日本郵便経由でアメリカへ発送するためにZonosを使いましたが、使い勝手が厳しすぎたので率直なレビューをまとめます。 ・後戻り不可の「一発勝負」仕様 支払い未完了・確定前であっても、一度次の画面に進むと前の画面に戻って修正ができません。修正したい場合は最初からやり直しになります。「とりあえず送料を見積もる」「後で確認して修正する」といった使い方が一切できないのがかなりのストレスです。 ・発送先の保存ができない 発送元の情報は保存できますが、発送先の情報は保存できません。リピートで送る宛先であっても、毎回ゼロから手入力させられます。 ・ポンコツAIによる逆効率化 送る品物を写真付きで1つずつ登録する仕様です。盗難や破損保険のためと理解はできますが、AIの自動入力精度が低く、全く違う商品情報を勝手に入力されてしまいます。しかも読み取り時間が無駄に長い。結局「AIが入力した間違った情報を消す作業」から始まる始末で、設定でオフにもできません。 正直、現状の仕様では時間と手間がかかりすぎて、継続利用はかなり厳しいと感じました。 **Developer response:** Thank you for the detailed feedback. On the photo requirement: photo capture is a requirement Japan Post set within the app flow, so it can't be turned off, but every auto-filled field can be edited after the photo is taken. If a field comes back wrong, you can correct it directly rather than starting over, and we're happy to walk you through that at support@zonos.com. On going back to a previous screen: once duties are calculated, we intentionally lock editing for that shipment to avoid gaming undercollection. However, we are looking at ways to make it easier to make edits before calculating duties, such as saving your progress along the way up until the duty calculation. Saving destination addresses is a fair request, and repeat shippers shouldn't have to re-enter the same recipient every time. It's the kind of friction we're working to reduce. We know the app adds steps to a process that used to be simpler. Feedback this specific helps us prioritize, so thank you for taking the time to write it up. ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2026-08-11, version 2.3.0* Will randomly decide you didn’t enter the HS codes so they can charge you duties on items that wouldn’t normally incur duties just so they can charge extra. Pathetic ### 5/5 — Good app/ Bad times *2026-02-26, version 1.15.0* Originally wrote a scathing review as the app was glitching. Their team reached out to me and explained what was going on and everything did in fact resolve itself. The app itself is good, gets done what needs to be done quickly and effortlessly. But considering the circumstances, would rather just send items from Canada to the US without all the hoopla… Regardless, good and simple app. ### 5/5 — Very easy *2025-12-04, version 1.12.0* Last year I had to complete a customs slip on my own in order to ship my sister’s Christmas gifts and it was a nightmare, especially if sending clothing, not to mention a home made fruitcake. I couldn’t believe how easy and accurate this was. It even identified the home made fruitcake and put a reasonable valuation on it. Well done Zonos! ### 5/5 — Be mad at the US, not Zonos. *2025-12-02, version 1.12.0* Works perfectly for Etsy stuff, identifies items and classifies them very well and works smoothly. I understand how this can be very frustrating, but don’t get mad at them, get mad at the certain government member who has forced us to have to jump through hoops to send things and shell out extra cash. It is what it is, and this is a service that manages to make it possible to do SOMETHING. 9/10, no issues with the app, pleasantly surprised that it accepts apple pay, has worked for me easily for a while now. ### 5/5 — Heck yea *2025-11-27, version 1.11.0* Awesome, it’s so easy to pay tariffs for my Etsy! ### 5/5 — Quickly calculates US duties *2025-09-01, version 1.2.2* The Zonos PrePay app has been super helpful to understand the different duties that are required with the new US tariffs.
