The only reason I'm leaving a review. The features are great. Are they worth dealing with the UX? coin toss. The UX sabotages the users's ability to do anything. Who allowed for overlapping menus? ### 4/5 — Bug report *2025-09-28, version 9.1.12* There’s a bug with the duplication of the selected writings and shapes, and with the copy tool, please improve this. If i duplicate something, it disappears. ### 2/5 — Syncing problematic *2025-06-02, version 9.1.4* The syncing is problematic. I typically end up with a document with a ! In the cloud icon. Then I end up with two documents and have to resolve the conflict. Has been like this for years. Probably would describe this slightly below average when compared to the top-notch notes apps, maybe mediocre at best. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything I found worth noting about (pun intended). Don't get me wrong, it is a solid app, just maybe a little behind on updates. I didn't find anything unique, special, or exciting that would make me want to continue using this app. It isnt necessarily a bad note taking app and does have a handful of useful tools and features to get your bare minimum note taking needs met, and it isn't half bad to look at either. Aber wenigstens konnte man dort noch Striche ziehen oder schreiben. Das ist bei der aktuellen Version scheinbar nicht mehr möglich. Und nein am Pencil kann es nicht liegen, in vergleichbaren Apps funktioniert dieser problemlos. Schade um diese ansonsten sehr umfangreiche App. ### 5/5 — Takes time to learn but does it all! *2024-01-16, version 8.8.26* I tried OneNote, EverNote, Google Keep but none really did the journaling planner activities I wanted to do that reminded me of my paper planner I used in high school & college. Saw all these influencers using GoodNotes and thought wow, pretty digital planners that looked like paper planners. And I tried GoodNotes for a year and it just didn’t do the digital pieces I really wanted to combine work and personal life together digitally. Then I read about ZoomNotes. I downloaded it middle of last year…Played with the ready to build templates included, worked great technically but I missed the pretty look. So I took the time to learn how to do the calendar integrations and work with layers on a purchased pretty template and now…I have the perfect digital planner on my iPad that automatically connects to my Google Calendar and Apple calendar so it shows me my reminders and my appointments in one spot, lets me cross off To Do list items, lets me add my moods and water tracking, ideas, thoughts, meal planning all in one spot digitally that syncs to my iPhone for looking at while on the go. The functionality of this app is amazing, the community is supportive, the possibilities are endless if you want to take a little effort to learn this system. Die Entwickler sind auf einem guten Weg - ich bin immer wieder gespannt, was als nächstes kommt. Als Ordnungsfanatiker störe ich mich nur daran, dass ich trotz Kaufens aller Optionen immer noch die ‚Lite‘-Version nutze, obwohl ich alle Funktionen der blauen Vollversion habe. It switches my pen off to eraser all the time, so I’m constantly having to undo erases 2. It leaves random lines all over the note, vertically and horizontally. Sometimes 20+ lines at a time. Recent annoying addition is now when I use my highlighter, it leaves random dots all over the page. 3. Deletes notes. Today, I spent over an hour editing a note. It was so glitchy with lines and dots, I closed out the app and rebooted my ipad, only to find the document I was working on was completely gone. I’m also pretty sure I paid to upgrade the app when I first started using this, but never got the upgrade. This app worked really well when I started using it, but I just can’t deal with all the glitches and fails anymore. ### 1/5 — In app purchase doesn’t unlock paid features *2023-08-30, version 8.8.14* I am out $7.99 since this app still says I need to pay $7.99 even though I already did pay. When I try to change the pen size it randomly changes to another pen and then randomly changes pen sizes making it unusable. It also needs a dot grid template. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — App crashes *2024-09-26, version 9.0.1* The latest update makes the pen tool take up one extra bar if you want to leave the color choice open, and it also makes it harder to choose the thickness of the lines. In the older version, you can just slide on the little line preview panel. Now you need to open the line panel to adjust. Just not as intuitive as before. It is so much more than a Planner Creator, Note-Taking, Presentation, Artist’s Friend! THERE IS NO BETTER APP! If you don’t believe me this is a FREE way to test it out. (But honestly, you might as well pay the one time price for the full package! The special features that I love and use are being able to add YouTube video links (that show the thumbnail), being able to add my own short videos, creating my own links to other pages or other apps or websites, saving my text styles, colours and shapes and so much more! Now onto learning how to create my own planner using ZoomNotes and adding the reminder feature. I’ve been using ZoomNotes for the last year and still learning.
