One of the most comprehensive apps I've come across. A quick skip through the tutorial and we were off. The possibilities are endless - from short fun animations to full on complex films. This is brilliant for kids and adults. Worth every penny. We love it. ### 5/5 — Family *2013-12-24, version 1.0* We've loved the PC version of Zu3D for a while, and the iPad edition is just as easy to use. The backlit camera you get with the full set is much better than the built in camera on our ipad2 so we'd still use the laptop for complicated animations, but the iPad can be used with much less adult supervision as it's more robust than our laptop. It has provided entertainment for the adults and children in our family. The design of the software makes it very user friendly and our 8 year old and 10 year old had no problems navigating through the various stages. Before they started they watched the tutorial on the Zu3D website. This was really clear and informative. We used the app to create animation using plasticine models and just using toys from around the house. It is great for inspiring imagination and encouraging teamwork. This app would be a great addition to anyone's iPad. ### 5/5 — Easy to use and fun *2013-12-22, version 1.0* This fun app is simple to use. The instruction video is great and really does tells you how to use all the features and make the most of your films. It is well set out with all the functions easy to find and to use. I have had lots of fun trying it out since I got it, it does become quite addictive to see what films you can make. I would say that children would love to use this app too as it would take nothing more than a few of their toys and a little imagination to create something that they'll like to watch and share again and again. ### 5/5 — Great! *2013-12-20, version 1.0* I was a bit sceptical about the price, but I've used Zu3D a lot on the PC and loved it so I thought it was worth a try. I was not disappointed! Like Zu3D on the PC this is not just a brilliant stop-motion animation package but also a video editor, audio editor and excellent title editor. So even my young children can make beautiful films with very little help, just a pity they are doing on my ipad! ### 5/5 — Best Animation Software Available! *2013-12-18, version 1.0* Been using PC version of Zu3D for the past 2 years in schools throughout the UK. Have been eagerly awaiting the release of the app version and am certainly not disappointed. Easy to use, but high quality results make it suitable for children (and adults) of all ages. App version has massive advantage of not needing to plug in external webcam etc and iPad takes up a lot less space on a table. Would highly recommend this app to anyone buying an iPad for Christmas. Hours of fun to be had as a family creating stunning animations. Can't wait to start using this app in schools in 2014! To this date, they still don’t work for iPads. Don’t waste your money until they figure out how to work with iPads. Never was refunded..... ### 1/5 — Crashes as soon as it's interacted with! *2018-02-05, version 2.26* Bought this for my son as he uses it at school. Whenever we tap on anything it just quits the app. Total waste of money. I tried again and it said I hadn’t bought it, so I tried buying it again and then it said that I already had it. It’s still unlocked tho. The interface is intuitive and carefully designed. However having been delighted by the first results the app keeps crashing or giving error message. The errors seem to be caused by the addition of sounds from the library. Please fix the bug soon. My young children love it. Makes animation easy. We love the onion-skinning. Incredibly we got instant support every time we asked for help. Extremely helpful developer! ### 5/5 — Great fun and great service *2017-02-14, version 2.11* Daughter used this in primary school, and wanted to use it in some Year 7 homework. Got it (opened no problem) and her and friends had fun making a 2min 10 second animation. Played nice in the app, however when exporting the audio slipped a few seconds. Mailed support...got a reply in seconds and uploaded the film. They fixed it and sent it back within 4 hours. Great outcome....happy kids.... homework done. And great caring customer service that solved a problem without hesitation. Fantastic. Wish all placed such stock in customer satisfaction. ### 5/5 — Brilliant, and it does work perfectly. *2015-07-28, version 2.11* I looked at lots of animation apps for my kids to use (9and 12), before settling on this, because of the appropriateness for kids, and the great reviews of the software. I admit I was slightly concerned by the 2 recent reviews, so I rang the number on the website. After an extremely informative and helpful chat, I decided to go ahead an download the app, confident that if there was any difficulty with download or use, I had a helpline to ring. Fair enough, when I tried to open the app initially, it wouldn't open. This was solved instantly however, by another chat with the helpful lady. The kids have spent the first rainy day of their holiday happily creating an extensive video together, using lots of imagination, and learning loads. They have both done some animation at school, and are ecstatic with how brilliant this app is, compared to what they've had access to at school. Please take no notice of the negative reviews, the website and people on the end of the phone are "super brilliant" (the kids words) ! ### 5/5 — Great animation app! *2014-10-30, version 1.2* This app provides a really simple and fun way to make great animations! I have used other animation apps before and been disappointed, but with this you can easily add titles, credits and sounds to make great looking films really easily. Dead impressed, all the features are here even the speech bubbles! I thought they would dumb down the app like most stop motion apps, you find, but no its all there and a sound library as well with sound effects. great fun! Well worth the price. The tutorial is useful and tells you all the special iPad gestures that speed up the film making process. Looking forward to trying out the time lapse feature too. They make animations of Thomas trains or my little pony. It is so quick and easy for them to get started and see what they are doing. Then we love to work together adding sound effects and music and speech bubbles.
