### 3/5 — No install

*2023-01-22, version 3.4*

I gave 3 stars on this because I was looking for a utc clock for my Apple Watch. Although this said was an app for the Apple Watch in fact there isn’t. The only way to put this on you watch it to go into the apps on your watch and tap on it to bring it up. To me that not a watch app. After you open it, if your watch does not turn off your fine but is it does turn off the utc clock is gone. I like the app on my iPhone and you can set a widget up but that all you can do.

### 4/5 — Almost perfect

*2022-12-10, version 3.4*

Great phone widget, don’t really need the calculator, so I’m paying for features I’ll never use.

That said, I’d love for the developer to fix the Apple Watch complication. Give us time in 1234Z format without any unnecessary graphics. Having just the hour (12Z) and a large logo next to the complication reduces utility.

### 3/5 — $4 for this?

*2022-03-31, version 3.2*

Update - I appreciate that the developer responded to my concerns quickly and even offered a refund. This response makes me feel better about my purchase, and I will not be requesting a refund because she or he has taken my opinion into consideration. I added one star, and will gladly add more as the app improves. See below for my initial complaint:
I don’t know if I’m missing something, but I think this app is way overpriced for what I got. The reason I bought the app was to quickly learn different time conversions. While the app does that, the widget does not show both local and Zulu time, and that isn’t effective for quick learning. I was hoping for a widget that would show my local 12 hour time, local 24 hour time, and Zulu time at a glance for learning purposes. I hope the developers will consider giving buyers this functionality because others have similar complaints. $4 is a lot of money for an app that does so little.

### 3/5 — Widget doesn’t show correct time

*2021-08-10, version 2.9.1*

I bought this specifically so I could have Zulu time displayed right on my Home Screen without actually having to open the app. Unfortunately the widget often does not update and shows the wrong time. I might as well just do the conversion from local time to UTC in my head!
iOS 14.7.1

### 2/5 — Apple Watch Issues

*2020-07-22, version 2.3*

Unfortunately I’m a broke college student/student pilot and have a series 1 SS Apple Watch. Wish that this app was supported on WatchOS 4.3.2 as that was the last update these received.... Didn’t think such a simple app/widget would require being on the most up to date apple watch. If the DEV could find a way for the series 1 users to utilize this beautiful tool that would be amazing!

### 2/5 — Military Time

*2020-05-26, version 2.1*

Cannot change the neon green time to 12 hour time. Please give refund.

### 5/5 — Great Zulu widget

*2020-01-14, version 1.9.4*

Finally got tired of figuring out Zulu time whenever I needed it, so I bought this app. Have an iPhone 6s, love having the widget on the Today screen, just a swipe to the left and no more mental math. I think the ability to slide time forward is pretty handy when checking forecasts far in the future.

### 5/5 — Does what it suppose to do.

*2019-05-30, version 1.9.4*

This app works just find, tells me the Zulu time

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2019-02-11, version 1.9.3*

It works well and simple to use. Been using this app for a long time now. I encouraged all my students to get this app.

### 3/5 — Not bad

*2019-02-02, version 1.9.3*

Working fine, but when it’s sitting on my homescreen, I wish it would display the Zulu Time instead of the app logo.. I’m a pilot and would love to just pull out my phone, look at my homescreen and see Zulu Time without opening an app.

### 5/5 — Finally

*2019-01-24, version 1.9.2*

Finally the update for the watch it needed

### 5/5 — Used to be good

*2018-08-17, version 1.9*

Looks like it had some issues on an older version of iOS but it works perfectly on iOS 11 now that I could upgrade. Great app with a very handy widget.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Useless!

*2024-06-23, version 3.4*

I bought this naively expecting that there would be a UTC watchface in the bundle which I could automatically load as soon as phone connects to aeroplane Bluetooth. But no, so to get UTC on watchface you still have to set UTC as a second time zone. There is nothing this app does that you can’t already do with Apple inbuilt multi time zones.

### 1/5 — Not good

*2024-04-22*

I bought this because my old Zulu time app is no longer available. It was a waste of my money. The Zulu time numbers are cut off by the UTC date. Plus, it only offers your time zone, not multiple ones. 🤬

### 1/5 — Missed the ball totally!

*2022-11-06*

Bought for Apple Watch but can ONLY put the Zulu hour in a small complication, there’s no complication for the larger size which is where it should show the full time all the time and not making you press on the stupid thing to ACTUALLY see the time!!

Just poorly thought out!

### 1/5 — complication not updating

*2020-05-29, version 2.1*

After awhile the watch complication stops updating and shows the wrong time. Useless.

### 1/5 — Wrong time

*2020-05-13*

Does not update time on Apple Watch accurately. Can not depend on the accuracy.

**Developer response:** Hi there. I'd like to help figure out the problem for you. Could you email me at info@rateofclimb.com with some info about your watch version and watchOS version, and what you're seeing? I'll get back to you right away. Thanks!

### 1/5 — Not for Apple Watch

*2019-07-26, version 1.9.4*

I downloaded this to use on my Apple Watch 3. And it does not have complications. So I have to go to the app every time I want to use it.

It only has the one face which has Zulu time only.

Disappointed

### 1/5 — Watch complication inaccurate

*2019-07-24*

Sometimes the watch complication is accurate, mostly not; seems to drift an hour off, if changing time zones it is useless

### 1/5 — Apple Watch complication is not to be found

*2019-04-08*

The Apple Watch complication doesn't seem to work, at least on an Apple Watch 4 with the "Modular" watch face. The dedicated app is there, but no complication.

The description specifically mentioned that it provides a UTC complication for the watch face and that's why I bought it. Seems like I wasted my money.

One star because there isn't a zero stars option.

### 1/5 — Don’t get this

*2018-04-19, version 1.9*

This is the worst thing ever 🤬

### 1/5 — Don’t pay

*2018-03-23, version 1.9*

Stupid app. Why would I want to know what Zulu time it will be in 30 minutes? Why would I want to know what time it will be in an hour, two hours, three hours? All this function serves to do is set the time incorrectly and not notice it.

All I care about is the Zulu time display and the local time. It does not display local time either. Just a stupid slider that makes the time incorrect no matter what time you want to see.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Tip top tick tock

*2025-09-22, version 3.4*

While your phones, iPads, Fitbit, laptops obediently changes the time upon landing and automatically adjusts for local daylight saving times around the world one can loose track of what really maters GMT, UTC or Zulu (referring to the zone Z in which the Greenwich meridian lies).
All navigation systems aircraft log keeping refer to UTC so Zulu Time is my certain go to when globe trotting.

### 5/5 — Great, but the DATE needs to be bigger.

*2024-04-16*

Zulu time is confusing, particularly in time of high workload. The date is the confusing part of zulu time. Please make it BIGGER on the Apple watch. Likewise, who cares about seconds here? Were talking timezones here.

### 5/5 — Personally Recommend

*2024-04-05*

Alarm is excellent
Good widget
Works

### 5/5 — Ham

*2024-02-10, version 3.4*

Does what it says! Very refreshing.

### 5/5 — ZULU Time

*2022-08-08, version 3.2*

Quick, easy and to the point of converting the local to ZULU….well done!

### 5/5 — Watch

*2022-07-16, version 3.2*

Great app!

### 5/5 — it take some time for complications to show up

*2022-02-06, version 3.1*

after I could add Z time complication to the appple watch SE it is Simple and straight forward . it has everything you need from zulu.
I just wish they have 2 MORE OPTIONS
1. option to turn "Second:s" off
2. showing z format date on the watch too just like iphone app show you "date-time-Z"
 ex: 050252Z for 5th February, 02:52 a.m.
because that is what military use on there report.
but right now apple watch shows you like civilian version like : "UTC: 2/5/2022" and even month and date order is switched so it can be confused. Confused= no use.

### 5/5 — Wonder app and periodic updates

*2021-12-12, version 2.9.3*

This is a simple and well maintained app. It does what it does.

### 5/5 — Perfect for Apple Watch users

*2020-06-20, version 2.2*

This app is exactly what I was hoping it would be. I can quickly see the current Zulu time by looking at my watch, with the Zulu time feature on my watch face. I thought about a feature like this when one of my friends showed me his watch(not a smart watch) with a feature similar to this. I was ecstatic when I found this app that would allow me to do the same thing. The widget for IPhone is also very streamline and quickly accessible. All around great app!

### 5/5 — Allows Zulu time in complications

*2020-02-14, version 1.9.4*

Finally able to see local time in 12 h and Zulu time in 24 h format. Yippee!!
