## What is Zysquy?

Zysquy — NIH Stroke Scale for non-English speaking patients
Zysquy helps learners and educators practice the NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) with support for non-English speaking patients. If you’re training in settings where patients speak Spanish or another language, the app gives you ready phrases and step-by-step guidance so you can practice the full scale in a consistent way.
What you get
Full NIH Stroke Scale — All 11 categories (1a through 11), including Motor Arm and Motor Leg for left and right
Spanish prompts — Clear “say or show to patient” text at each step for naming, reading, and picture description
Instructions in English — What to do and how to score, so providers can run the assessment while supporting the patient in Spanish
One-tap scoring — Large buttons and a running total so you can focus on the exam
Summary — Final score and item-by-item breakdown when you finish
Optional speech — Play Spanish phrases aloud and, where available, capture or translate patient-style responses for practice
Privacy and data
Zysquy does not collect your data. Everything stays on your device and is stored locally and encrypted. No account is required.
