# Pic FX Editor vs Magic FX

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Pic FX Editor at 92% against Magic FX's 18%. Pic FX Editor also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 16.0). Magic FX's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (3.3K vs 9). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pic FX Editor sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Magic FX sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Magic FX holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Magic FX has 3.3K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Pic FX Editor's written reviews are positive against 18% of Magic FX's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pic FX Editor ships an update every 2 months, Magic FX monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
