# Pic FX Editor vs ProductionCrate

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Pic FX Editor at 92% against ProductionCrate's 59%. Pic FX Editor also leads on iOS requirement (6.0 vs 17.0). ProductionCrate's advantage is rating (4.0 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (302 vs 9). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pic FX Editor sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and ProductionCrate sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ProductionCrate holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ProductionCrate has 302 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Pic FX Editor's written reviews are positive against 59% of ProductionCrate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pic FX Editor ships an update every 2 months, ProductionCrate monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
