# Pic FX Editor vs Syn

The clearest difference is rating: Syn at 4.7 against Pic FX Editor's 3.7. Syn also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (51 vs 9). Pic FX Editor's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pic FX Editor sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Syn sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Syn holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Syn has 51 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Pic FX Editor's written reviews are positive against 86% of Syn's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pic FX Editor ships an update every 2 months, Syn every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
