# Project Express vs Humm

Project Express and Humm both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Humm's written reviews are positive against 56% of Project Express's. Humm also leads on monetization model (freemium vs paid) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months). Project Express's advantage is device support. On price, rating and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Project Express sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Humm sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Project Express holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Humm has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Project Express's written reviews are positive against 100% of Humm's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Project Express ships an update every 4 months, Humm every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
