# Project Express vs Shadow Security

The clearest difference is iOS requirement: Shadow Security at 18.0 against Project Express's 26.0. On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Project Express sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Shadow Security sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
