# Project Express vs ByWhen

The clearest difference is update cadence: ByWhen at every 3 days against Project Express's every 4 months. ByWhen also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). Project Express's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Project Express sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and ByWhen sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Project Express ships an update every 4 months, ByWhen every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
