# Drum Magazine vs ScrollBack

The clearest difference is rating: ScrollBack at 3.9 against Drum Magazine's 1.0. ScrollBack also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (15 vs 1). Drum Magazine's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Drum Magazine sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and ScrollBack sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ScrollBack holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ScrollBack has 15 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Drum Magazine ships an update every 7 months, ScrollBack every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
