# HelloChinese vs Pika Robot

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Pika Robot at none against HelloChinese's 13. HelloChinese's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (24K vs 11). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HelloChinese sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month. Pika Robot asks for nothing beyond the download.

HelloChinese holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HelloChinese has 24K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of HelloChinese's written reviews are positive against 100% of Pika Robot's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HelloChinese ships an update weekly, Pika Robot every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
