# Backgammon Multiplayer vs Backgammon X

The clearest difference is ads: Backgammon Multiplayer at none against Backgammon X's shown. Backgammon Multiplayer also leads on iOS requirement (6.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backgammon Multiplayer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Backgammon X sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
