# Grow Shark vs Shark Evolution

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Grow Shark at none against Shark Evolution's 11. Grow Shark also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). Shark Evolution's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 15 months). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shark Evolution sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. Grow Shark asks for nothing beyond the download.

Shark Evolution holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shark Evolution has 7.1K ratings behind it against 31, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Grow Shark's written reviews are positive against 88% of Shark Evolution's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Grow Shark ships an update every 15 months, Shark Evolution every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
