# FlashAcademy Language Learning vs OkyDoky

The clearest difference is monetization model: OkyDoky at free with in-app purchases against FlashAcademy Language Learning's subscription. OkyDoky also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlashAcademy Language Learning sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and OkyDoky sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OkyDoky holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 259 and 627 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of FlashAcademy Language Learning's written reviews are positive against 60% of OkyDoky's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FlashAcademy Language Learning ships an update fortnightly, OkyDoky every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
