# Open Source & Software News vs FeedLyst

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Open Source & Software News at 95% against FeedLyst's 67%. Open Source & Software News also leads on ratings volume (29 vs 2). FeedLyst's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 4 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Open Source & Software News sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and FeedLyst sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FeedLyst holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Open Source & Software News has 29 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of Open Source & Software News's written reviews are positive against 67% of FeedLyst's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Open Source & Software News ships an update every 4 weeks, FeedLyst every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
