# Codemag vs New Scientist Instant Expert

The clearest difference is iOS requirement: Codemag at 8.0 against New Scientist Instant Expert's 15.6. On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Codemag sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 6 months and New Scientist Instant Expert sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
