# PPL Navigation Trainer vs PPL Exam Preparation

The clearest difference is rating: PPL Exam Preparation at 3.3 against PPL Navigation Trainer's 1.0. PPL Exam Preparation also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). PPL Navigation Trainer's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 23%) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PPL Navigation Trainer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and PPL Exam Preparation sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PPL Exam Preparation holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PPL Exam Preparation has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of PPL Navigation Trainer's written reviews are positive against 23% of PPL Exam Preparation's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PPL Navigation Trainer ships an update every 2 months, PPL Exam Preparation every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
