# Liveuamap vs Map Alerts

The clearest difference is rating: Liveuamap at 2.9 against Map Alerts's 2.0. Liveuamap also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (234 vs 1). Map Alerts's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (33% vs 24%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Liveuamap sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Map Alerts sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Liveuamap holds the better App Store score, 2.9 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Liveuamap has 234 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of Liveuamap's written reviews are positive against 33% of Map Alerts's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Liveuamap ships an update every 8 days, Map Alerts every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
