# UCB Player vs Hala FM Oman

The clearest difference is rating: UCB Player at 4.8 against Hala FM Oman's 4.0. UCB Player also leads on ratings volume (65 vs 1). Hala FM Oman's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

UCB Player holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UCB Player has 65 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 98% of UCB Player's written reviews are positive against 100% of Hala FM Oman's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UCB Player ships an update every 2 months, Hala FM Oman fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
