# Notepad vs TurboScan™

The clearest difference is ads: TurboScan™ at none against Notepad's shown. TurboScan™ also leads on ratings volume (101K vs 6.4K) and chart position (#140 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notepad sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and TurboScan™ sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Notepad against 4.9 for TurboScan™. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TurboScan™ has 101K ratings behind it against 6.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 80% of Notepad's written reviews are positive against 88% of TurboScan™'s.

Notepad ships an update every 2 months, TurboScan™ every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 1, 2026.
