# Notepad vs Score Note

The clearest difference is ads: Score Note at none against Notepad's shown. Score Note also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 80%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). Notepad's advantage is ratings volume (6.4K vs 6). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notepad sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Score Note sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Notepad against 4.7 for Score Note. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notepad has 6.4K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 80% of Notepad's written reviews are positive against 100% of Score Note's.

Notepad ships an update every 2 months, Score Note every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and September 22, 2026 respectively.
