# Tomstrails GPS UTM vs GPS Convert

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: GPS Convert at none against Tomstrails GPS UTM's 1. GPS Convert also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 84%) and device support (3 vs 1). Tomstrails GPS UTM's advantage is ratings volume (1.6K vs 19) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tomstrails GPS UTM sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. GPS Convert asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tomstrails GPS UTM holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tomstrails GPS UTM has 1.6K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Tomstrails GPS UTM's written reviews are positive against 100% of GPS Convert's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tomstrails GPS UTM ships an update every 6 weeks, GPS Convert every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
