# Tomstrails GPS UTM vs GPS Coordinates & Map Tools

The clearest difference is rating: Tomstrails GPS UTM at 4.8 against GPS Coordinates & Map Tools's 2.7. Tomstrails GPS UTM also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.6K vs 6). GPS Coordinates & Map Tools's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 84%) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tomstrails GPS UTM sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and GPS Coordinates & Map Tools sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tomstrails GPS UTM holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tomstrails GPS UTM has 1.6K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Tomstrails GPS UTM's written reviews are positive against 100% of GPS Coordinates & Map Tools's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tomstrails GPS UTM ships an update every 6 weeks, GPS Coordinates & Map Tools every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
